Apart from shoes, I was always brought 2 of everything. With PE kit, I was only brought one of everything. (It was only once a week and if it was dirty, it was washed in time for the next lesson)

Yeh I just bought one pair of shoes which lasted all year [..and still going! :)] And for PE kit they only do once a week so just used a football shirt and shorts and bought it home at the end of each term to be washed.

I always prefer when winter comes and I can let DD wear skirts with tights because they protect her poor knees which are always in shreds come summer - I did post a picure of them afew weeks back, poor thing was in a terrible state and in lots of pain! I have got two pairs of trousers for her but she's a girlie girl and likes to wear a skirt so I've got two pleated skirts (pleated all the way around) which have lasted really well. Mil bought her some tights from M&S last winter and although they were a little bit pricey they lasted really well and didn't bobble in the wash.

She's a filth magnet too so I'm never able to put the same top on her two days running so I've got quite afew polo shirts and I've also got a black cardi (which she's wearing today) as an alternative to wearing a sweatshirt all the time.

She's got afew gingham dresses (Matalan do reasonably priced ones with a zip which I like) with a white cardigan to go over and the uniform shop where I get the polo shirts and sweatshirts from do gingham pedal pushers too so I bought her a pair of them - not to everyone's taste maybe but she loves them.

Oh, and I bought some black tracksuit bottoms and black cycling type shorts from matalan too (amazingly they weren't too big on the waist) for PE so she wears those with a polo shirt one day a week.

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again

We have got a set of uniform for each day apart from cardi's which dd will wear one for two days. She seems to get dirty quickly and I like to put her in clean clothes every day.

I buy stuff from Asda or elsewhere when its on offer which is how I manage to have so much stuff for her.

DS1 has got to be one of those children that attract dirt and whatever else he can get himself covered in :D

We have 5 shirts, 3 jumpers and 3 pairs of trousers, and 1 pair of short trousers for when it decides to be lovely and sunny and warm.
I've started picking up new uniforms when out shopping and have put them to the back of the wardrobe.
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.

I do 2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of trousers, 5 polo shirts, 2 summer dresses and 2 cycle shorts and t-shirts (for PE) per kid. I'm not bothering with skirts this year as my girls invariably go straight from trousers in the usually wet and cold spring term to the gingham summer dresses in the summer term and the skirts I bought them last year went unworn. I normally only buy one set of PE kit but they do PE 3 times a week and I got fed up with trying to keep up so I'm making it easier for myself with 2 sets each this year.

Non clothes wise they also need a water bottle for the classroom as well as their lunchbox (if not school dinners) and I think this is the case in most schools now. I think the first book bag is usually given to them as a gift as well and other than that its just a drawstring bag for PE kit.

DD1 is in juniors and on top of the above has the school hooded PE sweatshirt (they go outside all year round), swimsuit, swim hat, towel and second drawstring bag and recorder + specific book for lessons but they didn't need any of this in the infants. It gets worse the older they get lol, my friends at work have been filling me in on all the stuff they need at secondary school!!!
    :heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:

Some of the stuff I needed at secondary school was stupid. For PE, I had to have - navy jog bottoms, light blue polo shirt, school rugby shirt and white soled trainers.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just wanted to add...delay buying plimsolls if you have a 4 year old starting school.

Check with the school the first week when they will need shoes for PE.

My class used to be barefoot in the hall Autumn/Spring term and we started needing footwear for outdoor PE around April. Obviously that meant an unworn pair of shoes for 2 terms meeting a grown pair of feet in the summer.

Had a few grumpy parents to deal with over the issue, so worth saving the money until they really need them.

my two younger boys, get two school sweatshirts,at least 3 pairs of trousers and 4 tshirts.I have just got the lot today, bought the tshirts from adams online and found they were good last year.Plus you can buy a pkt of 2 for the price of 1 school one.I prefer not to be running around every morning looking for clean clothers so hence why i buy a few.Should be more organized and sort the night before but never seem to get round to that.

I have nine year old twins who are total dirt magnets (sliding down the embankment on their knees, yoghurt at lunch time, whiteboard pen marks the lot)

So generally I buy ten of everything so they have a clean uniform for each day, then it all gets washed and dired together at the weekend. They sometimes manage two days without getting dirty, but not often.

My personal experience of various suppliers is:

Asda Trousers- Awful quality, Poor fit, washed badly.

John Lewis Trousers- Washed well, stayed looking smart, good fit.

Marks and Spencer Trousers - Wash well but hems tend to come down.

Sainsbury Trousers - Wash fairly well, hems prone to coming down.

Debenhams Polo Shirts - Wierd cut around collar made them difficult to iron.

Marks and Spencer - Cotton Rich Jumpers - My twins love the feel of these. They wash pretty well but do shrink and fade slightly after lots of washes.

This year I have gone for the M&S wool blend trousers and cotton rich jumpers.
I am getting the official school t-shirts and 2 of the official school jumpers (horrible acrylic material!)

Does anyone else find the teflon coating on trousers a total pain!
I like to iron their trousers to get a nice clean crease, but the teflon coating makes them hard to iron.

Also, trousers with the button adjusters inside the waistband. My twins are slim and the buttons dig into their hips. All trousers above age 8 seem to have them in.
Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j
