Would you rather I spelt it out?! He was only 3 1/2 after all....how else do you explain that particular medical procedure, apart from emphasising that it will make things a lot easier & less painful!
Eh? Totally baffled since I assumed you meant circumcision, yet I have never heard that making anything easier or less painful. Quite the contrary, particularly for their female partners when they are sexually active! However I think it must be quite possible for some boys to need it for medical purposes.

Yes he was circumcised, for medical reasons, to resolve over 2 years of painful infections & recurrent balanitis. As he was a small boy, that was the way it was explained to him, and he can't remember anything else now, but he knows he had it "fixed" - his turn of phrase from when he went back into nursery & asked his teacher if she wanted to see his fixed willy!Lunar_Eclipse wrote: ».....Quite the contrary, particularly for their female partners when they are sexually active!......
As i have never had that experince, I wouldn't know......I assume his girlfriends don't complain though (or at least, I have never heard them....;) )0 -
My eldest son had his first pair of boxers at 5 and had decided by 7 that he much preferred tham and asked for boxers rather than briefs the next time they were ready for replacing.
My youngest is 5 now and has had problems with a tight foreskin since he was 3 (sorry if I shouldn't say it like that) but docs refuse to circumcise until he's 7. He prefers briefs but tends to get uncomfortable if he gets an infection so wears boxers then.
I would say just go with whatever he is most happy/comfortable with.Debt busting! Jan 2014 £7632.50 £7445.80

I dont understand this question. Is wearing boxers some kind of transitional move to manhood? Personally I am a briefs man. I cant stand boxers as i find that they are not "supportive" enough. I like to have all safely gathered in but then maybe i am particularly well blessed in that area? As one respondant said,i think briefs look better and sexier on a man and boxers just look horrible.0

I think a lot of it is little boys wanting to look like Daddy. My DS1 asked for boxers like Daddy and he now wears them in bed on the warmer nights but i think they are too bulky under his school trousers. So he has a combination and it will stay like that until he decides different.Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110

I think i had one pair of proper boxer shorts ever and hated them! Probably around the time my friends started wearing them in late primary school time. I always preferred the tight fitting shorts instead (i guess these are what you would call Jockeys). Best of both worlds.
I think this sort of thing is just one of those parts of growing up. Mix in a little bit of peer pressure (or bullying if you want to take it to that extreme) too. Some kids always catch on later. Same thing happened with having trainers IIRC. One moment nobody even considered wearing cheap plimsoles an issue, then suddenly you've missed the boat and you're the only kid without a paid of Nike/Reebok/light up L.A. Gears (LOL!). I think i was always one of said kids lagging behind. Got ym own back in my teenage years by getting into cars first though! Instant cool.0 -

I did, and no I haven't deleted (it's just on page 1). I just like to see the outline of my DH's rather cute bottom and boxers don't allow that! He chooses the tight fitting boxer/shorties type brief, which suits us both.
Some say that from a fertility point of view boxers can be better as they allow the testes to hang away from the body and maintain the optimum temperature for sperm production. I guess it's personal though as we have had three children now without really trying (sorry for TMI!)Saving to pay the tax man0 -
My ds didn't find briefs comfortable so he had the jersey type boxers from when he was about 3-I think Tesco/Asda are the best bet for getting them in the smaller sizes0
