We've done loads of research, and this IS the best deal online or in the shops (for the mattress we've chosen), and beats anyone else by a long way thanks. In fact, with the Quidco cashback we've saved £70 on the next best deal!

I'm sure the canny members of this forum will be doing their own price research to see where they can get the best deal for the particular item they're after, but this tip might help some of them save money, because it's certainly worked for me!

Well I'm sorry to tell you that both the retailers you mentioned are still over priced even with the discounts.

There are loads of retailers who would have given you a better price.

Tim, with respect, I don't think you can generalise like that. After all, I haven't said (a) which mattress we're buying or (b) how much it is from this company. So how can you say anyone else would do it cheaper?! I've checked, and it's definitely the best price around at the moment.

Plus it won't harm anyone who's looking for a bargain to consider these two during their search, will it? Always best to consider every option, wouldn't you say, until you find the best price? This is a money saving forum after all!

You quoted two companies, and after looking at a wide range of their prices, I can confirm that they are both very expensive (I do know the bed industry and the best prices for different specifications).

For anyone who doesn't have an inside knowledge of the bed industry I can understand that you may believe that you got a good price. But to say that the two sellers in question can save people money simply isn't true I'm afraid.

Remember it is common for companies who use cash back sites to add to the price in order to then give the impression that you are getting a bargain with the cash back discount.

There are 100's of on line sellers who could have given better prices.

It's was just a suggestion that anyone shopping round might include Quidco in their search for a good deal. It's not a suggestion for you (after all, you're not looking to buy a bed), but it was a suggestion for people who are. It's not something to argue over, I'm just suggesting my fellow shoppers consider it, along with all their other options.

What we're going to do is sleep on it for a good long while, and then write a detailed review of its good and bad points on here at a later date, when we've had a chance to get to know it properly! So I'll get back to you all then.

You say that these sellers saved you loads of money, when they are clearly expensive, but you won't say which model you bought. So you aren't trying to help anyone save money because you won't tell them the mattress that they can buy cheaper through the sellers. Hmm......

If I say on here what mattress we've chosen, you'll tell us what a dud we've picked, and to be perfectly honest, I'm not interested. We've done our research and we're happy, and you rubbishing our choice is not something I'm going to let happen.

Now you are just being silly. I'm not being confrontational, I'm trying to help people. And you saying that you got your mattress really cheap, but not telling people which one it is, isn't going to save people anything is it?

I find it very strange that you come up with two companies that you say give huge savings through Quidco, but I couldn't find a single model that they aren't over priced on.

I asked which model you bought because maybe I missed something. I'm not going to rubbish your choice, because you have already bought it. I give good and bad points about mattresses that people ask advice on with the view to buying, and not on ones that they have already bought.

So put your money where your mouth is, or stop giving people false advice.
