Hi guys.
I have been looking for a few weeks now at mattresses and thought I had made a decision on a La Romantica Madrid Mattress, however after finding that Ergoflex have a sale on just now I decided to investigate.
Now the ergoflex mattress is a standard style memory foam mattress, i.e foam and memory foam and goes against the recommendations of several places. Firstly it has a higher density memory foam at 85kgm3 as opposed to the generally recommended max of 70Kgm3. It also has 90mm of memory foam which would also go against the recommended maximum of 63mm, I wonder if the higher grade foam would allow for a thicker layer of foam ?
Anyway at that point I was ready to say no way, however the reviews for this are fantatstic. From Review Centre it has 83 reviews with an overall of 9.1, Value for money rating and reviewer rating of 9.5. Looking through the reviews most people give it a 10 but as always there are a couple of negatives.
I must admit that I am tempted, despite the initial trepidation. If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0 -

The problem with memory foam that is too high density is that the recovery rate is too slow. This combined with 3.5" depth means that you will sink into it almost the full 3.5" and then will find it very difficult to change position.
Also the deep memory foam engulfing you combined with the fact that it is reflex foam underneath means that the air can't circulate under the memory foam, and the heat build up could be considerable.0 -
Hi everyone,i have read with much interest many of the previious pages but have not yet made my mind up regarding what to buy.Having suffered like many on hear with a back complaint ,i find many mattresses i have tried dont give the comfort i am looking for.One i have come to like was a Waterlattex which i tried in my local family owned bed shop.I am looking for a single size to use on top of a firm sprung base which is a few years old but is not showing any sign or wear or sagging. The best price i have found on the net is £219 which they will match. Please can anyone give me some sound advise regarding this product before i splash the cash ? Thankyou The "old timer".0

Hi mason
Please can you post the link for la romantica madrid @ £379, I can't find it anywhere!?
Thanks
No probs, you can phone onlinebeds.com and they will get within 7 days (http://www.onlinebeds.com/) at £379 for a double or Bedlum Beds also stock the Madrid at £415, but also provide a decent returns guarantee (http://www.bedlum-beds.co.uk/section/0/La-Romantica).
I'm more than likely going to go with Bedlum Beds, but going through this thread I noticed a few people mention the La Romantica range, but nobody has put up a post as to how it was once they got it?
Good Luck.0 -
Tim,
Do you have any views on the La Romantica Madrid Mattress? Would it be good for my situation (my post's a few pages back), and is it a good mattress overall?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Grogs
Try searching 'La romantica madrid' in forums, I remember seeing a couple of recommendations by people who have bought it but this thread is so long I can't find them!! Still not decided wether to take the plunge and order it myself - too many tempting cheaper options!! Good luck0 -
After spending half my holiday trawling through this thread
- I have decided to look at beds from the smaller manufacturers as has often been advised by Tim.
Has anyone come across the make Dreamtime Beds? - http://www.dreamtime-beds.co.uk/ they are local to me and seem to have stood the test of time !
Haven't been for a look yet, will try and call in this week.
cheers0 -
My Silentnight mattress has gone all creaky and you can feel the springs, despite spending nearly £300 on it just over 2years ago we need a new one too. It's seen some use, but that's not good enough for that sort of money
Anyone know the warrenty duration for a mattress?
Hi the warranty for a Silnentight Mattress is 12 months.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}
