What the heck have I done wrong? How do I know if I've downloaded everything I need properly onto my computer?
Someone help please!!
The problem is your downloading the Security Suite which does run on a 15 day trial. Best thing to do it make sure its uninstalled and then download and install the free firewall.

After you press the download button they still try to sell you the Security Suite on the next page - the download for the free firewall is on the right hand side.0 -
How can I uninstall ZA when I don’t have the icon in the taskbar?
If I click on 'No, thanks' on the box mentioned above it tell you ‘ZoneAlarm Security Suite will be converted to ZoneAlarm. Any applicable ZoneAlarm Security Suite settings will be transferred…..’
Should I just click OK or try and do as you’ve mentioned grahawk.

Start, Programs, Zone Labs, Uninstall Zone Labs Security. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
There should be an icon in the taskbar even if you click no thanks, which is what you should do. Not sure why that's happening. I think when you press no thanks it will uninstall the security suite and the icon might disappear and it then installs the firewall and you should get the icon back - not entirely sure about this though.
Alternatively to uninstall go the control panel and choose add/remove programs and uninstall Zonealarm and download the firewall as suggested.0 -
Thanks grahawk, I'll give this a go.
espresso, it doesn’t say Zone Labs on my computer but I do see ZoneAlarm Security, I guess this is what you mean. I'll try this if I’m having difficulty with grahawk's suggestion.0 -

Zone Labs is the name of the company. Zone Alarm is the product. So yes it will be ZoneAlarm Security, but I'm guessing in the program files folder it'll probably be under a folder named "Zone Labs"."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Excuse me if this has been asked, im at work and haven't read the whole thread. The missus' laptop has had connection issues since the beginning of the week, you can still get on certain sites and if you go around the houses you can get onto most sites (not including MSE forums
). It's slow as a snail but can get onto Google no worries but then misses out some of the html information on pages.
She uses Vista basic and ive not heard of Zone alarm so not sure if it uses it?
Is this a connection/wireless/pc issue? The laptop is only a few months old so should be ok.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. This is about an XP update by microsoft that caused the zonealarm firewall to block all connections. Nothing to do with wireless, nor Vista. If you're getting any connection to any site at all then it's nothing to do with this particular problem. Although the fact it's Vista means it's completely different problem. All info is in the first post."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
