So use method 2 or 3 as already stated to download the latest version of ZA. Use a bit of logic!
Can't remember which product I have and I didn't think I would be able to download from work but I have just downloaded all 5 updates so will run the correct one when I get in tonight.
Many thanks0 -
Zone Alarm have just issued an updated version which fixes the problem (7.00483.000). They were pretty quick off the mark, whereas MS seem to be strangely silent about it all.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

Thanks to all for this thread and especially you Anthony, I just wish I'd seen it yesterday I've done umpteen system restores trying to fix it and as fast as I was fixing the b..... update was unfixing :eek::eek::D
I've taken the update out for now and disabled auto updates, I also took out the hotfix thing there was so much information and so many links I got confused.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

if you have removed the update, I recommend you see expressos post and get the latest version of ZoneAlarm, then activate windows updates again and install all the updates available to you.Rules, Rules, Rules .....0

Your options to fix this problem are incorrect. The secuity level should not be lowered and the MS update KB951748 should not be uninstalled.
The correct action is to download and install the latest versions which solve the loss of internet access problem here:
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
ZoneAlarm Pro
ZoneAlarm Antivirus
ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware
ZoneAlarm Basic Firewall
he wasnt actually wrong as everything he suggested was wat virginmedia told me to do over the phone...
might have changed later but initially this is EXACTLY what they said you should do0 -

Well Virgin Media were behind the times then if they were giving that advice last night. When I posted all versions of Zone Alarm had been re-released to work with the M$ update. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
yea they are behind lol
well that was the advice they gave me at around 12 o'clock when i first notcied it was down
but your advice seems like the more logical advice....
to be honest i didnt follow wat they said anyway!
i just heard "it could be an issue with zonealarm" after that i stopped listening lol
