totally off topic but you and Frank sound like such a cute couple!

Haha, thanks! Put aside our constant bickering and I guess we are. Everyone says we're like an old married couple. We've known each other since I was 13 so we're pretty close.

*edit* Just opened an account with Green Metropolis. It's a site for selling your used books, its free to sign up and free to list your book. You get £3 per book, but have to pay postage (it says second class is 66p) Not bad for something thats sitting on your shelf!

Didn't get around to ringing the bank up yesterday morning, decided I'd much rather stay in bed and read I capture the castle. I really want to buy the movie but I'm holding out until monday, hopefully I'll get the £10 amazon voucher and be able to order it then, and it'll be basically free.

Trying to find a near copy to the dress the Russian got Carrie in SATC (where they have a wee little waltz in mcdonalds) I'm mainly going for a 60s shift like top half, with a ruffled or teired bottom. It doesn't have to be pink because its for my sister for christmas and she's more of a classic in black person, I've found a couple of maybes. And you could class this as saving as I'm not getting the Oscar De La Renta one.

Also, still on my £5! I have £1.60 left, I would of had more but I decided to be extremely classy and have a kebab. It was worth it, because it gave me a funny stomach and ended up in me not having tea so I didn't have the wash the pots.
  • Haha, I've never heard of delhi belly being a good thing but hey if it gets you out of washing up, can't be bad. I'm amazed you've still got money left from that £5! that's unbelievable, I'm having a rubbish month money wise though..

I've spent my two days off work literally going from bank to bank setting up savings accounts, ISA's and finalising current accounts for my parents. I've also managed to cut my dad's contents insurance for the house from over £500 a year to £164 a year saving him a massive 67%!! I also managed to get his blackberry hooked up to his train sites so he can receive "up to date information on the whereabouts of trains" oh dear god... but he's been trying to do it since December without it working properly and has been paying £17 a month for the privelage! I'm now going up Northfield to shout at the TSB because when I set my mom's and dad's ISA's up yesterday, they REFUSED to release the money to deposit into the ISA. I'm gonna give them a piece of my mind!!

Congrats on getting your Dads insurance down so much!! I'll have to show my parents that as they might give it a go.

Blackberrys are tricky things, I'm just thankful I only use my for the basics!

Good luck on having a go at the bank people, i know my mum loves doing that.

A bit back in the topic I know, but with regards to holidays, check haven sites, they might not be suitable, but there are both caravans and tent pitches available very cheap at off peak times, especially if you book late. Might just be worth a look. Good luck to all of you, I hope I can join once I finally start work.
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions

Thanks Jaybrad, I never thought of haven sites!

tinkerbel, that's good with the voucher thing! I've never heard of valuedopinions, so I'll check it out in abit. I really should be working but I dont have a single invoice to sort at the office :o

Ringing the bank up once I get home, I think I have about £235 in. Frank isn't coming over until late tonight so I wont be spending much today, bar £15 I owe mum, and some bits from asda. No plans so far for the weekend, most likely just take the dogs for a walk or go to a national trust house.

    *edit*
Just checked my mail and my £10 amazon voucher has already come through, hopped straight onto my account and order I capture the castle and cold comfort farm. Total came to £13.71 so I only had to pay £3.71 not too bad for 2 films I'll watch over and over. So I've just knocked that amount (well £4) off of my Asda budget.

I rang up my bank and I had £230.50, to the penny! Went to asda to get Frank his treats, a tub of icecream because he won a bet and a big bar of dairy milk (still on offer) then I got my parents some dairy fudge and a fruit and nut mix for myself. Spent abit over £5, then went to aldi for some candy floss. Got £20 out the bank and paid my mum the £15 I owe her. So I'm back to having £5 in my wallet. Like I said, no plans for the weekend so it should last, so fingers crossed I wont go under £200. Going shopping with my sister on bank holiday monday, so i hopefully wont touch next weeks wages before hand, so I'll be able to treat myself.. if i just so happen to go into vera moda;)

Hope everyone has a good weekend! How did the trips to the bank go Villafan?
  • We went up as a 3 and asked and they said there was a block on the account for security. So she phoned the HQ while we were there and lifted the block. I came home and put the £4,000 into their accounts and everything's fine! She even admitted that the rate I had got them was far better than the TSB could offer.

You seem to be doing well, I'd offer advice, but dresses, vero moda (is that a coffee?? ) and things like that are waayyy over my head :p
