A cash ISA is just a savings account where any interest is paid tax-free.
Because you receive 100% rather than 80% of any interest, there are limits to how much you can put in this type of account, you are only allowed one per year with up to 3,600 pounds .0 -
Good luck with your list, Jordan! I did mine last week but I still keep on changing ones. Also wanting to do a 20 before I'm 20 list, but mine are more lifestyle than money saving atm bar afew.0

Thank you sdooley:beer: i got confused, but now i get it
And yes.. everyone i admit it, i am thick:D
Can't do bingoport as im not 18 yet so, that's out of the window.
I can't treat myself because i know i will buy more until it all goesI'm apart of the sealed pot challenge so the money i make in that is separate from the £1000 extra.
Already do banking online and now am going to change my premium bond to cash isa, now that i understand what one is!!!:p :rotfl:
And i am now going to get crafty and sell some items on ebay and at craft fairs etc to help go towards my £1000 target. Will ask for art and craft stuff for birthday.
..xxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -
oh wow awesome! i dont really know what a cash isa is.. just what ive read from on here, I need to get one really before April but I dont pay any tax anyway as I dont work (student!) so i dont think there is any shortterm benefit for me.
I think cash isas have long term benefits really - if you ever expect to be a tax payer, then get isas every year now and say when you have to pay tax, on the isa money (say 10 years at £3000 a year) you will have £30 000 savings where when you get the interest it isnt taxed....
I hope this makes sense..
Cinny - GHDs - you will never look back so i think well done lol!0 -
Hey everyone! Happy New Year!
New Years isn't that much of a big deal for us, so me, Frank, my sister and her boyfriend went to see twilight at the cinema. We normally stay in and head to bed 1 minute after midnight. My new years resolution is to stop buying un-needed things just because I fancy it, which I do far too much. Put it into action yesterday when I went shopping and only bought myself some smelly draw liners which I needed.
The ghds came yesterday, I'm inlove! You were right Tink, I've put my old straighteners in my wardrobe as back up, just incase.0 -
Feeling sick today! Not been able to keep anything down, i haven't been properly ill in about 3 years so I'm still trying to do normal day to day stuff. I just can't stay in bed! Thankfully it's starting to pass and I've been able to keep an apple down (yay!) Hope everyone's feeling okay, I think I've got that sickness that's been going around. Can't wait (fingers crossed) to be able to get up tomorrow and get out of my jammies.0

hey Cinny how are you feeling? I hope you're ok and managing to not be sick anymore!
Im not really been doing much - quite a lot of moping but ive earnt £10 more in amazon vouchers I think and hopefully will get up to £10 more before I go on holiday!0 -
I'm feeling much better today thanks, tink! Back at the office, here all day today so I've bought lots of fruit and energy bits with me.
Why moping?! And when are you going on holiday? Good luck with the vouchers! I haven't earnt any since before the christmas break.
Tonight I'm going to figure out my little SOA, give myself a weekly budget and try to live this year on as little as possible. I want to save £400 before Franks birthday for a new laptop for him, and that's about half what I'll earn before then so I'll have to be careful. My parents have offered to let me use their CC on the basis of me giving them £100 back each month until it's paid off, but I'd rather be able to give them the money in one lump sum.0 -
Okay! lots of birthday goals:
1) Save £400 for Frank's birthday present.
2) Loose abit of weight and tone up before my 18th.
3) Save £100 so I can treat myself to some new clothes for my birthday.
Suddenly come across feeling so sleepy! Going to go have a nice soak with my book.0 -
Feeling abit off this morning! Hopefully it will pass soon.
Making tea for everyone tonight, making curry and doing it abit buffet style and need to get the kittys some more food so no chance of a NSD today.0
