Regarding Theobromine in Smiley sets:
I just googled some information on Theobromine, and got some info from Wikipedia. It is mainly found in cocoa and chocolate and it is safe for us to consume, but not the animals! Dogs and cats tend to metabolize theobromine slowly and can lead to poisoning.

I left my expert vouchers at home  divvy.
There wasn't much charles worthington left but I got some texturising paste reduced to £1.13 for free with till spits, I think there was something for £2.26 left so would be pennies after the voucher. Also got 1 elle £2 mini and a GWP, some JF serum free with till spits (loads of them left) and some expert wax strips to hide the glitches. I need to defuzz while I can still see anything past my bump.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought I'd better get that done soon, trouble is I cant c past my bump so need DP to help  I hate to think whats hiding underneath :rotfl:Total Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220 -
Awww, thanks tiara but I'm gonna hangfire as I'm hoping I will miraculously spot some for around the £3 mark - I think someone did once?
I am actually quite skint since my Bootsing on Saturday!!
As for the Berry bags - I've only just twigged what they are!
Someone bought me one a couple of years ago - the brown and blue one - I do love it! And it has stacks of room inside, so I can get deodrant, shampoo and hairspray bottles in it when I go away!
:T"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being"."Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that"."True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".:rotfl:0 -
I think, until reassured otherwise, I'm going to add the Smiley stuff to my list of banned substances
1. Lily pollen - causes liver damage in cats
2. Cloudy disinfectant - can be absorbed through the pads of cats and dogs and is very toxic.
3. Cocoa garden mulch - contains lethal Theobromine.
4. Smiley.....?
Maybe I'm a bit off-topic, but worth a reminder....?0 -
.com_loverlee wrote: »Right. this just triggered a memory of a news item I read recently, about a garden mulch made from cocoa, which had proved lethal to dogs who had eaten it. The fatal ingredient was theobromine. Any chemists out there got any advice for our 'Smiley' fans? It would hardly be 'happy-therapy', if Dear Dougal took one sniff, and keeled over in a coma........
(Maybe I worry too much..... I really like the sound of the Smiley stuff.....)
I am by no means a chemist, but.......
Theobromine, found in chocolate, tea and cola drinks, can be fatal to cats, dogs, horses and other animals if EATEN. Hence you should not give your pets chocolate, (no matter how much they beg and do the 'big cute pleading eyes' thing! ) as it can kill them if eaten in large amounts.
But I dont think the smell alone would cause them any harm at all, as the theobromine has to be ingested to cause problems.
Apparently theobromine can also kill humans, but it is estimated that you would need to eat about 22 lbs of chocolate for the dose to be lethal.
