If he pulls the details from ebay, at least then the OP will also have his contact details.HairyHatMan wrote:Both of which he will have if he posts payment / pulls your contact details from ebay.0 -

However, those that ask, I will point out first that it has to be when Hubby is home as the dog is too big for me handle with strangers, but hubby is big enough to cope.
It has put 3 winners off!!

How about getting his phone number and address first, say youll get a male friend to deliver "FREE" . Forget ebay rules and even getting a neg. You can always reply to a neg and explain
These type of transactions ,you have to be comfortable with the buyer face to face. If you are on your own then in future you must make it clear in your listing that it is POSTAL ONLY or delivery on what ever terms you want0 -
Whos to say he wont if you get him to send a cheque? He will still get your address and if he lives close by he will be able to see when your out.elona wrote:I really do not like the fact that he wants your phone number and your address.
Even if you do have a male there when the guy is suppossed to turn up - what is to say he will not turn up earlier or later when you are on your own?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
He's not answered my e-mail requesting payment first so I guess he will probably not buy the item now, but to be honest I'd rather sell it again than have him at my door.
I wouldn't have minded so much handing the item over at my place of work if he had asked before bidding, its the assumption that he can just come to my home at a timescale to suit him that I object to.
I suppose I'll have to register him as an NPB to get my fees back - I'm sure that will get a negative feedback!!0 -
But he might tell ebay that he offered to pay?

He refused to pay by any of the means listed in the auction, though.black-saturn wrote:But he might tell ebay that he offered to pay?

Hi
Im sorry about the problems you have had with this buyer- and it sounds if you were right not to allow him to collect, as he has not been civil enough to pay. I have had this happen to me, and I too am a women staying on my own and also registered disabled. I was attacked four years ago and it has taken me a long time to recover from this - not something I want to disclose to the world through ebay.
Also people find it very hard to find my address and I had to wait in for ages when I alloweed a collection, and so did my boyfriend. So now I dont allow it- and you would be amazed at the cheek I get. Some people forget that not only may I have personal reasons that I dont want them calling, but that it suits me a lot better to post the item in my time- all at once rather than waiting in 5 days for people to collect.
It really annoys me that some people are so rude ,and why they just dont stick to the terms of the sale. The last person who emailed me ,before the end of the sale but they had already bidded ,took five emails to accept the fact that I did not allow collections, he was REALLY RUDE to me .Telling me to withdraw his bid as I was being unreasonable etc.But ha ha he ended up paying more for the item and twice in much in postage from another seller.
I hope you get more from selling the item again.;)0 -
I can't afford to pay fees for items I've not received the money for so I've reported him as a NPB because as masonic says he hasn't agreed to my terms of delivery. I don't offer personal collection. If he negs me then I'll try and get it removed, if I can't get it removed then its only the second neg in 300+ positive (the other was unfounded too but I left a response stating that had he contacted me I would have refunded). I think buyers can see I'm a good seller especially if I leave a calm reply to any negative feedback.
Thanks for all your good ideas.0 -
I would be pretty annoyed though if I bought something from the town I lived in and the seller still wanted me to pay postage fees.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
