I can confirm this, just downloaded the update on my other half's laptop and it's now working OK. I had to move the slider on the "internet zone" in the firewall to medium before downloading the update, but once the update is installed it automatically goes back up to "high". I also did a full install and not just the "upgrade" option. Hope this works for everyone :j0 -
Ditto, except I did an upgrade to ver 7.0.483.000 of the ZA Basic Firewall on 2 desktops. Downloaded the MS updates & rebooted - all OK.Time is a concept of relativity, yet as a concept, relativity is timeless.0

I do not understand why someone behind a router has a software firewall running as well. Surely the firewall on the router is on and a hardware firewall > software firewall. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

No firewall is infallible, and you'll be surprised at just what a determined hacker can do!
The more firewalls you have between you and the internet the better, although you should only run one per machine!
When I turn off my notification supression, the number of port scans I am getting is unbelievable! Even though I'm behind a router.A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -
Is the routers firewall on though? I know many are on by default, My os does have a sort of buit in firewall but I am obviously concerned for others like my dad who does use windows. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Whoops No! I was fiddling with it, on yesterday ZA problem, and thought I'd turned it back on! I didn't hit the apply button! Thanks!

I wish I could have somehow got on the internet and read this post.
I have spent all morning talking to sky, after going through everything on their lists twice and still no internet connection, they let me talk to a 'big techie'. First thing he said was have you got Zone Alarm. Told me what the problem was and now I'm up and running again.
Am about to send letter to sky to ask why their call centre bods don't ask the question before going through the 'mend it' list.whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

But I can't believe that Sky went a whole day without coming across this problem, in which case their internal communications must be dreadful."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0
