I did bubbles, but it just doesn't feel like me at the moment. Animal is way to cheerful and mad for me just now.
I'm doing crap but my living room is in the middle of an amazing transformation!

I had an awful night. Sleep was scarce and the few times I did doze off I had horrible dreams.
I look as if I've been in a fight as my face is swollen and red. Good look.
If it's not enough that I feel like crap I have to look like it too.

  • Sorry you're having a bad time. I'm afraid horrible dreams are all part of the process of putting this behind you and moving on. Try not to give yourself too much thinking time and stay busy if you can.
Try to imagine you are protected by an invisible pink bubble that nothing can get through to hurt you.
Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get through this.

I'd love to redecorate but I'm not sure I can afford it. I'm really just gutting the place and rearranging furniture at the moment. A few years ago, before I left my good job with good money I started to do the place up - new doors, skirtings and facings and a new kitchen. Then I left my job half way through and nothing has been finished. The place is a pit and is horrible to live in. My kitchen has it's new units but has no flooring and no plaster or tiles on the walls. It's really depressing. I think I might ask my family to give me money rather than gifts for my birthday so I can at least get the plastering done.
The rest of the house isn't quite so bad although there are holes in the walls around the skirtings and facings from when the old ones were removed. I really need to get my finger out and just get on with it. Problem is that it can all be so expensive.
    Bet you're sorry you asked!

  • Do you have any friends who will come round and help you? I re-decorated when I split with ex and it made me feel so much better. I know plaster and tiles will be a bit costly, but are there rooms you can improve with a coat of paint? As soon as I felt up to it I bought a few tins of paint, a couple of bottles of wine and pizzas and invited my friends round for a decorating party. I couldn't afford to replace furniture but moved it all around and made covers for a few bits and it soon became 'mine'. Keep checking ebay, you may find some cheap paint on there but I find wilko's own is good and cheap enough.

I've already told my sister that she'll be required. Might well say to some friends as well. Great idea.
