Hi Mupeteer, I am meant to be going to to bed. but found your thread here so thought i 'd have a read.
I love Dogs, have wanted my own for ages, but its not going to happen cos at the moment I live with at home, and Mum just tolerates my current pets. she wants a dog, but that will not happen just yet, my sister keeps putting her off.
I really sorry you have had such a rough time of it, a dog will definitely help. (((hugs))) in case you feeling icky right now. I am having a not fun time with the male of the species at the moment. trying not to let it get me down. once term has finished am going to clear out and move round my furniture in the hope of a fresh start to get shot of a rubbish year at work and a rubbish year generally.
if you want a buddy for debt free ness I have roughly the same amount of debt.
keep in touch and good luck with your new girl

I've lost my motivation and just feel like hiding today. I'm still in bed and can't see any reason to get out. It's a beautiful day outside but somehow that only makes me feel worse.
I'm really annoyed with myself as I've got so much still to do but just can't be bothered. It looks like trying to eradicate all trace of him from the flat isn't working. I'm feeling so low.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on

Mupeteer, one step at a time sweetie. You can't expect to do everything at once, so breathe slowly and calmly and try to just set yourself tasks that you can achieve. You can set yourself up for failure and put additional pressure on yourself by setting mental deadlines. Try to concentrate on all the good things you have achieved and the good decisions you have made.
I think that getting a dog is a wonderful idea. I re-homed 2 rescued greyhounds and they have the most wonderful temprements. They love giving and receiving cuddles too.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

hi mupeteer, sorry you are having such a bad day today

Just wanted to say how lovely your doggy-to-be is
Lucy or Sophie come to mind as names and for some reason Grace or Ruby!
Apparently dogs most identify with a 2 syllable name (apparently) for hearing commands. (although Grace is obviously 1 syllable!)
I don't think she will cost a fortune - if you get any insurance from quidco and go onto the freebies board for dog food freebies, a couple of the companies send a sachet or 2 every couple of months if you remember to contact them. I once made a huge batch of liver dog treats, they stunk the house out whilst baking (pureed liver and flour - bleurgh) but they went down very well!!!!Pay off a Debt by Christmas 2008 Challenge: £1500 overdraftTotal paid off: £235Comping: July wins: The Who tribute band tickets (£24), MP3 download, Man Utd DVD (£17), Life's too F'ing short book (£13)0 -
