I went today to renew my membership. I asked if I could go in first for a look before renewing, and they said yes. So I looked, then renewed, I bought some things, and then the assistant who I spoke to first came over when I was leaving to check my receipt, and said that at any time I could return the card and get my membership fee refunded if I liked.
I questioned that, and he said that even in 9 or 10 months I could go to customer services and simply explain that it wasnt as economical as I had thought, and they will refund me. I said that they dont advertise that do they? He said there are actually signes to that effect around the store. He also said that "everything is refundable at Costco, even the membership fee"0 -

I think this must only be for "personal" memberships rather than business memberships as there are 6 of us on my father in laws primary card , all living at different addresses.
above the customer service desks , there are big signs detailing the different membership types , who qualifies for membership and how much each additional card is.
Ps, chewing gum is also tremendous value at about 15p a packet compared to 30-35 in shops , and as i'm trying to give up smoking i'm going through it by the box load !"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
happy travels !!

Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but their 80g printer paper works out at £1.50 a ream (you have to buy 5 reams), which is much cheaper than anywhere else I've found it - £1.99 at Tesco and the PO.
Also, you can buy packs of postage stamps that work out at a saving of about 2p per stamp.0 -
another question about membership for costco.
i noticed that a few of you said you didnt neccesarily have to be in business or trade to join and that people in certain jobs could.is this for free? or still with membership fee?
my husband works for the police in communications and the employer is listed on his payslip as local government authority......would we be eligible to join? and again free or still with fee?
we have a makro card that we got through his job but after having read this im quite tempted to try costco as they sound better!0 -
Pretty sure he'd be ok there. There's always a fee for joining..... https://www.costco.co.uk has some sketchy details. There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0 -

Yes - Police, as well as Civilian staff, along with the other emergency services are DEFINITELY able to join.
Go on - it'll be worth it!
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
can anyone give me an indication as to how much beer is in costco?
like, for 24 cans of stella or somewhat similar? The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.
You ask for ADVICE not ADVISE.0 -

I buy a huge drum of their own "lakeland" washing powder - it's £6.99 I think, you only use a small scoop of it and 2 drums has lasted me a year!!! My washing machine goes on every day - we are a family of 4 - beat that for savings!!!0
