And as usual there are plenty of others. Think I'll need to do some serious reporting of my competitors.

    C'est la guerre!!

:rotfl: I reported a lot of my competitors too!
Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy. :p

You can relist again, just don't put the extra keyword in. I cant believe though how they ended your auction but there are loads of other auctions doing the same thing. How do they get away with it?

I guess its either just bad luck that those particular auctions showed up when ebay did a sweep or they were reported by a rival seller who knows ebay doesn't check them all.
    Annoying isn't it?

firstly ebay dont sweep like they say they do they rely on spam word software
its your competitors or the owner of the brand name you are selling that is reporting you to ebay.
and relist but just do it for 1 day auction as its up and run its course before they can pull it
i know a lad that sells fake roles on ebay but he used to get them pulled all the time as he used to list them as rolex subs/cosmos etc but now he just list them without anysort of mention to rolex in the listing but his photos clearley show what the tiem is and he hasnt had one pulled since
need to have a lightbulb moment

Ah right. Sorry your item got pulled OP, but I'm glad that it's against teh rules and ebay are checking things out, cos it's infuriating to spend time checking out listings that are not what the title suggests.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
  • Seems a matter of luck whether you get pulled or not. Keyword spamming seems pretty common particularly on electronics e.g search sony and get panasonic etc.. I think they do put you on a watch as I have seen people have multiple listings pulled over a period of days. I was told they do not actively police the listings for compliance but rely on reports from other users. As other people have said this seems to be a method used by some sellers to reduce the competition.
  • Must be some sort of crack down on this, as I've had 3 listings removed this morning. Strangley they haven't (yet) removed 2 other of my listings that also contain the "Like" whatever brand name.

Yes, and if the owner of the brand objects to you selling their product they can still get your listings pulled.

Has anyone got a link to report keyword spamming?

Just in case something of mine gets pulled even tho my competitors are still selling with the same rule flaunting (likely to be one of those reporting us, eh)
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
