Argh... Listing got pulled, can I relist?

You could also have you listing "pulled" for using trade names that don't relate to your product.
For instance if you are selling an xbox and you put "not ipod" or "not PS2" in the title it may get pulled if someone reports it!
The reason people put the additional illicit descriptions in is that your item ie:xbox would appear in seaches made for the other items ipod or PS2 giving greater exposureI run because I like BEER.....

jelliebean wrote:Hi, I'm selling some stuff on Ebay, pretty low value stuff, one pair of trousers was up to almost £20 though, whch was good as I really need the money; unfortunately ebay pulled the trousers off for keyword spamming (I added one extra word in..) and sent me an email about it:
"We appreciate that you chose eBay to list the following listing(s):

However, your listing was in breach of eBay's Keyword Spamming policy and has been removed from eBay. We have credited all associated fees to your account and notified eBay users associated with the transaction that it has been cancelled.

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

Keyword spamming is not permitted on eBay. This occurs when members place brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting members to a listing.Sellers are not permitted to make comparisons between items in a listing title. For more information on Keyword Spamming visit the following Help page:

I won't 'spam' again as I don't want my account suspending, but I just want to check - will I be able to relist the trousers without the added word, or will they suspend my account? (It seems so unfair though, *everyone* keyword spams but it had to be my listing that got pulled...) Thanks in advance anyway
I had the same happen to one of my listings today also.... but I put in my description that the item" was'nt from **** although**** has one very similar in its current directory." I thought I was only being honest - did'nt want someone to think they were bidding on a **** item when it was'nt!!!!!!!!

but all other listings of the identical items havent been pulled, i'm confused
it says if i relist again, i could get my account suspended
This happened to me a few weeks ago. My three auctions for the 'offending' items were pulled but when I did a search there were nine pages of the same items still on ebay!
I contacted ebay & said that while I understood thier policies, I did not understand why the other items (all nine pages of 'em!) had not also been pulled. They responded (eventually) and said they were sorry that I felt 'singled out'. LOL :rolleyes:Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

I have just had one pulled tonight. The offending bit "(not 400)".
And as usual there are plenty of others. Think I'll need to do some serious reporting of my competitors.

Its like selling a "mini metro" and sticking "not VW GTI 16V 106 Saxo" etc in the title.

I just came a cropper to this sort of thing, just saying innocently my item was "better than __" (nearest competitor at same price)Money saving:

I had an item pulled last week for listing a Dunlop hat with a Fred Perry logo. The annoying thing is that the logo is Fred Perry!!!!!!!!
Anyway I relisted without the offending Fred Perry and eventually had a bid for £3 less than the original bid.:j:j:j:j0 -
You can relist again, just don't put the extra keyword in. I cant believe though how they ended your auction but there are loads of other auctions doing the same thing. How do they get away with it?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I also had 4 of my listings pulled yesterday with the same email regarding keyword spamming, In my item i said it was 'like ..... (a branded name)'.
They must be coming down on everyone this week though i was sure it was some else on ebay that must have reported me, but now it may be ebay just clamping down.0 -
I think a lot of companies that know they're products go on Ebay employ people to scan Ebay for these "offending" auctions... Sad really.Money saving:
