I have to admit I was hoping for a white 16gb one. That said, I don't NEED it so the 8gb will do nicely. Saves queuing on Friday too ...
CPW seemed to have the 16gb one, but I really don't like the reputation of CPW, would be happier with O2Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
Really I want the 16gb, is there any way of finding out when these will be available to order again?0

aren't the tariffs bad though? Whilst I would love one I am not sure that the 35 a month tariff is at all competitive.
Also will this one be able to be cracked liked the others?Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Most likely, but you will have to sign up to a contract in order to get one, so unlocking is kind of pointless.
There were rumours of O2 supplying PAYG iPhones, but they are not on the site yet. And given the memory is not upgradable I will not be settling for an 8Gb version, even if I do get one soon.
And in other news, I had an SMS today....
"Thanks for registering for iPhone 3G. We'll be in touch when your upgrade date is due. Terms apply. Thanks"
Given my upgrade date was about two months ago and am on a rolling 1 month contract, I would suspect that their initial survey to gauge interest was quite deficient in a number of ways.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. For anyone who plans on hitting the stores on Friday, many of the o2 stores are opening at 8.02am unless trading hours prohibits so.0

I tried all morning to order one, managed to get my credit card details entered at least twice but it kept crashing, rang up 02 to have a moan and the guy said that he didn't think they had sold out they just posted that they had because the system kept crashing, he also said it was not guaranteed to receive it on Friday, that is not how I read it
really fed up0 -
Went into the local CPW at lunchtime today and asked them about Friday. Apparently they will be opening at 7 and they've said that they'll be getting 8 x 16GB Black, 14 x 16GB white and 20 x 8GB.
These are the numbers that have been allocated to them today (at a fairly small somereset town) but they've yet to get delivery.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0 -

Interesting..
The word on the net is that there are no white 16 Gb available in the uk at all..... I'll give my nephew a ring 2mrw and see what has arrived there. I'll report back"I don't want to sound cold and un-caring, but I am those things so that's the way it comes out" - Bill Hicks0 -
I cannot understand why anyone would find the 3G version a 'must have', especially when there are so many worthy alternatives with GPS and better cameras. That said - do remember O2 are also making the handset available on pre-pay, so no credit check, no risk of credit reference defaults etc etc.
Seems the most sensible way to go....0
