iPhone 3G Available to Pre-order from 8am today
I've just had an email from O2 saying that it will be possible to order the iPhone 3G from 8am today (Monday 7th) by going to their website. I know it's not money-saving as such but there are a lot of people interested.

Hi just done it, ordered my 3g iphone 8gb, dont forget to try & use Quidco to order on the 02 website. £35 cashback would be a nice bonus.
Hope everyone who wants one gets one.0 -
Good point, £35 for O2 direct contracts or £60 if you go through CPW. Not available from there yet though.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0

Hi,
today the new I phone 3g went on presale for delivery on friday. I am keen to get hold of one and have been a loyal 02 customer for years. My contract is now up and I have always been able to get a reducaed rate deal with o2 in the past but when the iphone first came out I struggled to get any reduction so didn't bother.
Has anyone been able to knock them (O2) down on the price of the line rental for i-phone?
Regards

To the people who have already ordered it- did they make you sign up for a contract online before they say they'll ship it? How does it work?Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.0

didn't manage to complete my upgrade order but they do ask what contract you want and state that its an 18 month contract and you have to tick to agree to their terms and conditions.0

Apple has reduced the production order for the 3G version of the iPhone compared with the original due to the over supply of the 2G version, which failed to meet targets.
It has left O2 frustrated with Apple after the operator was buoyed by the introduction of subsidy on the 3G iPhone.
O2 believes the introduction of subsidy on the iPhone will attract far more customers than the original, which sold at the full price of £269.

tbh i'd lay blame on both..
Giving that o2 still has the 8gb availible, i'd guess they overstocked the 8gb and failed to see the demand for the 16gb. Someone said o2 ordered an iphone for everyone registering an interest yet they have no idea who wanted either model.0 -
CPW are now taking pre-orders. Maybe they've got some stock of the 16GB phone there?Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0
