Thought I'd just put my 2p in.

I lost 2 stone with weight watchers 2 years ago and have kept the majority of it off. But think it was partially to do with stopping the pill and its made me feel so much better. I was on the injection for a while and found the weight creeping back on especially on my fingers (weird). I now eat roughly what I want and maintain.

Yes I could be thinner but the word diet just makes me hungry. :rotfl:

Happy to support and encourage. I don't have any scales but I do have a pair of trousers that I use as a guide.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • I was on the combined pill since I was 13! so for the best part of 10 years! I initially just came off of it as the doc was concerned that my old docs hadnt picked up on the 'coincidence' that my problems started at the same time as going on the pill. So I was off it from Feb till recently going on the injection. Only reason I wanted to go back on something was the OH wouldnt come anywhere near me even though I protested that there are 'other methods'

Anyway, did quite well, had my porridge with my apple at lunch and had pasta as planned for tea, although there was the addition of white sauce butI only had a small portion as having the left overs for tomorrow's lunch. I went round to my dear ma ma's after work and was being offered all sorts of sweets, meringues crisps... I was strong though

Tomorrow we have a friend coming for tea so I am making a chicken pastry dish that I nabbed from pampered chef party I went to. Broccoli, red pepper, mushrooms, garlic, onion, chicken breast all chopped up within an inch of its life combined with chilli powder 2 tablespoons of mayo (light) and some cheese (small amount) wrapped in some puff pastry and topped with fresh toms baked in the oven. yumyumyum... is it wrong that I have made myself hungry at nearly 11pm?!

    Night all xx

any advice on yummy weightwatcheryloseweighty type receipes that aren't too 'different' from the 'norm' that I can try to ease the OH into. I have bought red lentils recently but he announced he wasnt keen on trying them, also have tins of chickpeas, kidney beans, butter beans and black eyed beans.. :) (am I being cheeky? :p )

    xx

I've got loads of recipes, I'll see what I can do when I get home (bearing in mind I'm a veggie, there will be no meaty/fishy options!!)

Other basic stuff is soups, very easy to make and can freeze well so you can bulk make it and just take out a portion as and when.

    0-point Veg soup:

Use any old 0 point veg you like (generally carrot, swede, BNS, courtette, onion, cauli, broccoli - whatever you prefer/have left in the fridge)
    400g tin of chopped tomatoes
    approx 2ltrs of stock

Bring to boil and simmer for about 30 mins - keep as it is or blitz in a blender - whichever you prefer.

    Carrot & Coriander Soup:

    1kg bag of carrots
    1 packet of Coriande
    1.5-2lts veg stock

Bring to boil and simmer for 30 mins - blitz in blender until preferred consistency!

You could also go on the WW website - it's free to use the message boards.

    mis morn: apple and coffee
Lunch: carrot soup a la lilDevil stylee, 2 slices h/m bread, orange juice
    mid aft: tea
dinner: fish in lemon sauce, new pots, broccoli, cauliflower
    tea
eve...heres where it all starts to go wrong....two glasses red wine and half a malt loaf.
    Oh well, theres always tomorrow!

Do you know how NON fattening malt loaf it? It is fantastic as a treat when you are on a diet as it is sweet, but good for you.:T
  • Well I'm not on WW or anything so I don't know how what i eat compares to the 'good foods' but im trying to eat healthy sounding stuff and smaller portions...

So.. yesterday I didn;t get brekkie thanks to my cat being unwell all over the lounge (nice first thing in the morning!) so I had a hot choc when I got to work as it lines my stomach making me feel like ive eaten. i had 3 coffees throughout the day and one fruit tea. Lunch I had a small bowl of left over pasta from night before, and a muller corner. dinner I had a friend over and made the chicken veg thing as per few posts back, I had a slice of that with 4 home made chips (just so i didn't feel left out) and a spoon of baked beans. I had a glass of pinapple juice with that. then naughtily I had a bowl of ice cream with caramalised apples :o - but it was the last of the ice cream

Today I have had two slices of h/m bread toasted with marg and h/m jam
    2 coffees
About to eat my lunch which is a salad of spinach leaves, cucumber, toms, some ham and salad cream, then a muller corner. not sure what we are having tonight though, possibly mash potatoe nests with a baked egg :) OR home made pizza, see what OH wants.

Think I am doing so well at work, considering everyone else says they are dieting there is a lot of cakes and biscuits being thrown around! but I am good and resist!

Thanks skips mum - put my work trousers on today and they sort of slid down (sorry all :o) but its probably because I've been working flat out during the unison strike and haven't had time to stop to eat much other then the choccy cake that my boss brought in.

Have had chicken tikka masala for tea though.

I would agree that you really need to eat breakfast and keep eating a reasonable amount as your body goes into starvation mode and stores everything so just in case you never get to eat again and it can really mess up your metabolism.

I used to love weightwatchers as I could budget my points for the occasional mars bar. I also used to do the "i must eat this because it's good for me" even though I really wanted something else and then ended up eating both.

It's also helped by not keeping naughty stuff in the cupboards as then it can't talk to me - why does chocolate sound so load even through the fridge door?:rotfl:

  • well I had a bad weekend food wise! Friday night the OH was feeling ill so he didnt want me to cook so after shopping we got a pizza

And while I was shopping I saw some rice infusion pringles in my fav flavour reduced so I had to buy them and on Sat the OH and me ate them between us, The Whole Tube!!!

Yesterday was ok as we were up at the MIL so she fed us sensible food.

So today I am back with the salad for lunch. I had toast this morning though so im still trying to force myself to have brekkie.

How did the dress fitting go??

    xx

I just bought a body shaping thing from Figleaves.com - in beige it's half price (27.50 from 55) and it's a thong back multiway/strapless body squeezing thing. It has no visible lines, and it has fasteners underneath so you don't have to strip to pee. It also looks pretty sexy, not like knickers that stretch from breast to hip!

The only thing is that the cup sizes run small small small. Although since I'm smirking away brimming over a D cup (for the first and only time in my life...) it's not necessarily a bad thing!

It's by Annette, and I found it in their Shapewear section - here: http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=ANT-10582

It might be a good investment for any of you ladies who need help with your final inch :)
