Sorry to hear about your toe. Hope it gets better soon.

I had my Assessment at the gym yesterday - i get one every 10 sessions where they take my measurements - I have lost 6 and 1/4 inches around my body :j which is great news, means i am closer to fitting in my dress. Their scales though are weighing me lighter then the WW scales but they seem to show same loss so dont mind. But they have me down as lossing 5lb since last time which was 2 weeks ago. So by my maths thats the 1lb i lost last week and the rest must be this weeks loss. Will find out tonight at weigh in.

Keep up the good work. Hope everyone is losing :T

It will probably fall off a few more times before it stays on....and may well be all lumpy & ridged for ages too. I damaged my big toes skiing about 15 yrs ago & they're still ridgy, and DF trapped my little toe under a door about 2 years ago & that still falls off now & again.

Speak to a nail technician about maybe having an acrylic toe nail done for your wedding.....after all, it will be cheaper than a new pair of shoes!

  • Hi all

Would I be allowed to join you all? I have just under 20 weeks till my big day (29th November) and I too bought my dress from ebay and it is a little smaller than I expected. It does up but not comfortably and the back which is corested looks a bit strange as it has quite a big gap between the ends (although there is a bit of material that goes under the lace so you don't see any skin)

Anyway, I am doing the grocery challenge on the OS board so am not only trying to lose weight but also trying to cut back the pennies. My step mum is on WW and insists on buying all the WW branded foods which really bothers me as they are sooo expensive.

I don't feel like I have a particually bad diet, although I do tend to skip brekkie, then a small salad and a yog for lunch (salad has spinach leaves, cucumber, toms and a small splash of salad cream, and sometimes a cheese triangle) and then dinner at about 7.30 - 8.30 and its normally pasta or rice or potatoes in some form or another, although tonight we had fish and cous cous!

I have completely changed my diet over the last year and cut out most of the naughties but i never seem to lose anything. the year before I did lose about a stone but I was going to the gym everyday but I couldn't afford the membership anymore so cancelled.

I guess maybe I just need spuring on to cut out the few naughties I do have (hot choc before bed as it helps me sleep, ice cream a couple times a week, and when its 'that time' any diet might as well go out the window!)

The only thing that has changed over the last month is my method of contraception, unfortunately I had to come off of the combined pill as I was allergic to the oestrogen (forgive spelling) and so now have the injection. I had my very first one 4 weeks ago and have been told it could put weight on me:eek:

my current weight is between 10.9 and 10.13 (depending on time of day etc etc)

Sorry to bable, I just think I have finally realised I can't do this on my own, and needed to get it all off my chest.

Littlebelle - you do need to have brekkie as it kickstarts your metabolism - even if it's just a banana as you're going out the door. I keep cereal and milk at work as I'm always in a rush.

It's also a good idea to vary the diet as much as possible as the body gets used to what it's having and slows down. As a veggie, I eat a lot of lentils and pulses which can be high in WW points but are the right kind of fats etc.

I recommend buying some of the WW cookbooks - as a veggie I've adapted quite a few of the meaty recipes, but you should find quite a lot of stuff in there.

When I have salads, I try and include as many colourful veggies as possible as they all have different vitamins/minerals - OH thinks I'm a complete freak because I eat raw cauli and broccoli - but also sweet peppers are good as well as mange tout/baby sweetcorn/carrot - I sometimes have baby new postatos (if you have WW kitchen scales, you can easily point them) or a boiled egg. You could add stuff like chickpeas (I love them!) or other lentils/pulses.

Although if you're a meat eater, you may want to add other stuff - sorry can't advise on that tho!

Hope I haven't preached too much.
  • Well today I actually had some toast - I wasn't going to but as I opened the fridge to get the rabbits brekkie I saw my jar of homemade Jam.. yummyyumyum... so 2 slices of toast and 2 coffees so far today. I went to make my salad and found my spianch looking very unfit for human consumption, just aswell I share it with the rabbits anyway so it wont go to waste!

In my drawer I have soup, a packet of porridge a yog and an apple. Think i might have the porridge with the apple sliced on top?
tonight will be 'pasta hats' as my OH calls them but so tonight tortellini with no sauce but some cheese grated on top. I will no doubt have another couple of coffees today and then fruit juice when I get home.

I re-read my post last night and found I sounded like a whinging bag! Think its because I have always tried to 'go it alone' but don't think i can do that anymore. so the support from you guys is great Thank you

It also doesn't help that the OH is a bit finicky when it comes to trying new things. He didn't really want last nights tea because itwas pollock not salmon with our cous cous... but i forced him! haha..

any advice on yummy weightwatcheryloseweighty type receipes that aren't too 'different' from the 'norm' that I can try to ease the OH into. I have bought red lentils recently but he announced he wasnt keen on trying them, also have tins of chickpeas, kidney beans, butter beans and black eyed beans.. :) (am I being cheeky? :p )

    xx

  • I was about to go back on The Pill when my OH proposed, so I held off. I was on the mini-pill about 18 months ago (as I am a larger lady anyway), and found it totally inhibited my ability to lose weight. I didn't gain anything, but despite going to the gym endlessly and being very careful about my eating, I couldn't budge a pound.

Now I'm counting calories and dancing quite a bit, and the weight is stedily coming down.

I blame The Pill for stopping me losing weight.

It's annoying not being on it, though, for very obvious reasons...
