Natwest and CPP scam

I had the misfortune to work for Cpp and I can tell you exactly how it works. The company has a deal with a lot of the banks whereby they activate or confirm safe receipt of credit cards and then go on to sell either identity theft or card protection policies by over hyping the threat, and then the banks take a cut of the profits.

As someone stated earlier only Santander cards need activating by using a bit of software and nothing at all is done to the safe receipt cards, so you don’t even need to ring up. Sales are made using a script and the idea is to make it sound as if you are in imminent danger of becoming a victim.

Employees are pushed into making or hitting sales targets and because of this they have been known to put sales through. One little scam to watch for on card protection policies is the 3 year option, the salesperson will say something like “out of curiosity when does your card run out” knowing full well it’s a new card for 3 years, followed by “I’ve just noticed that there is a 3 year option that will save you a lot of money”.

Basically Cpp sell Identity theft policies that cover nothing and card protection policies that also cover nothing because you are already covered by the bank.
