  • Morning everyone..
I'm with you today MillieM, bit fed up at the prospect of living like this (e.g. in such a tight budget) for such a long time. I have a huge urge to go and spend... not on anything big necessarily just something nice. I guess this is how we got in this position, I equate buying nice things with being happy!!!

    Hope everyone is ok today?

Would still love to hear from anyone that has been to one of these parties... I posted this yesterday but fear it may have got lost down the thread.

    Hello my friends,
    how are you all?
Girls.... (well and you I guess Tony in your capacity as a chippendale) has anyone been to a 'stringfellows' party??
I have been invited to one and have no idea what to expect, apparantly a little like ann summers.

    Any guidance??

    Have a lovely Friday everyone.
    ;)

    Good Morning guys an gals!!

sorry i not been on a few days - mad busy emptyin my new classroom for the builders  and their work to commence!

:j tis the start of summer hols for me! but means even more cut backs for 6weeks - great  like i can make any more lol...have to laugh - am doin the £1k summer hols challenge tho so fingers crossed!

Millie - i think we all must have had a downer back end of this last week!;) keep your chin up - like you say you can make min payments - have you done spreadsheets (yes i no i am sad lol! but its a fab feelin to lift you when you can see every penny coming off - i have done mine for every debt on excel and put in the formulas and cross off each month and see the balance left....then make just £5 overpayment (have a jiggle with figure based on what you can overpay - i added £10 extra a month to each debt and it reduced a chunk of time!)and you'll see how much sooner you can be rid! keeps me going a little anyway....:o

Hope you all have a fab weekend, im off to a friends 30th party tonight ... its at her house so i am takin a small bottle of bacardi and that'l be it! nsd today!! its already in the house from grocery shop that came thursday night ;) haha

just wondered what does everyone else tend to spend on groceries...being nosey but other boards vary...we seem to spend approx £100 every two weeks - i fill the freezer with bread etc, loads of fruit keeps in the fridge - and just have to pick up milk in the week and odd bits of fresh fruit...just curious because sometimes i feel we spend a fortune, but others i think about how much we used to spend:eek: ....

hope you are all feelin ok today! enjoy the weekend x

Hello all my lady friends, how are we this evening?? Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Kel, hope you have a nice time at the party tonight!

Sorry for the lack of posting this week, but have worked 12 hour days plus travelling this week and its really caught up with me! I only have 1 more week at this company then I start my new one just 7 miles away on 28th. My best friend in the company, another manager Tori, is away next week so we were saying our goodbyes yesterday and Iintended on a NSD but she bought me lunch a couple of weeks ago, so I treated her. She went through a really difficult time with staff and targets when she first started in November and she says I was the only one who supported her through it! To me, its just what people do! Anyway, I have said that friends stay forever but I get on well with everyone there so this week is going to be tough!

Been doing more work on my finances, as my CSA will continue to be dedcted again this month. I am new a tax refund and am pursuing my company for repayment of a car allowance benefit which they owe tome so hoping that will come through. I really am in survival mode with money and a puncture in a new tyre i got in February cant be repaired so thats a new tyre at £80. Also have car tax and MOT in the nextfew weeks as well as front brakes on the car. At least i can fit those myself.

I got my credit report via Experian and it does not show some debts outstanding namely my £2.5k Bank of Scotland card which I pay towards each month but it shows £451 outstanding against my car which I sent the final payment of just under £6k last July so I have wrote to them to explain it.

What is the score with the CCA business? All my card debts £15k are on cards that were taken out around about 2000,I want to honour my debts but morally what is everyones view on this?

Sorry for the long post guys, I am just reflecting once again and trying to keep things in focus depsite this being a tough month and hardly having any money! You guys have been a tower of strength you really have! Especially over my kids and I cant wait to see them soon!

I'll stop waffling now, hope everyone is ok and chat soon!

    Tony x
  • Morning everyone,
The Stringfellows party was a scream, I drank too much and have a bit of a head this morning.... but it was a really fun night and has lifted my mood.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, how was your party Kel?

I don't know about this really, I feel a bit scared of doing it!! I am so early in the paying everything off stage, I really feel like I need all my CR's on my side and this might p&ss them off!! (Also, I still don't really understand it). What do you think?

Kel, on the shopping side of things for the last 5-6 weeks we have managed to spend £60 for the four of us, 2 adults, 1 teenager and a five year old. One week it was only £36. But we seem to have averaged out at £60. Hope that helps.... What about everyone else?

Off to make more coffee..... for my head!!!!!

    LOL :p

    Morning everyone.

Im in a bit of a grouchy mood this morning thanks to a certain someone texting me at nearly 2am sending 2 text messages and then going back to sleep whereas I couldnt get back off to sleep - thanks tony lol.

there are lots of threads about CCA's on this site, there are also template letters on sites for National Debtline. By law a company who is chasing you for a debt has to be able to provide a CCA, if when you request one they can't provide it within a certain timescale then they can't enforce it. Whilst the account is in dispute they also can't sell the debt on or add interest etc.

I have requested a CCA for Welcome Finance. have 9 days left to go and then it will have been the 12+2.
