Received the compliment slip and congratulations slip this morning. I live in the Greater Manchester area. Just googled Matters consulting and came across your thread. Very useful ! Will contact my local TS now and see what they say.

:eek: This scam has now reached Bristol. I immediately became suspicious and googled their name. They have not changed their format or presentation of information. Thanks for your postings and I will warn family and friends so hopefully they will pass the message on.

My parents received one of the blue slips yesterday, actually addressed to them too!! We're in Lancashire.

Mum asked if I'd have a look at it, so I googled the name and found several places all saying the same thing about a gym membership.

Will look into reporting it later today. Has anyone had any response form reporting it?

Snoopysox: check first to ensure your parents are NOT on your local council's "public" electoral register. If they are, then they should opt-out immediately. (Simply ring your council's Electoral Registration department.) Although there is no need at all for anyone resident in the UK to be on the public electoral register, unfortunately, many still are, and so can be targeted by direct-mail sleazebags.

The fact that your parents have addressed mail -- i.e., in their names -- means they're on the Matters Consulting / Survey UK list, and so their name and address details can wind up -- if they haven't already -- on any of the various scammer mail-outs operating in the UK today.

I'm not aware of any TS responses to individual reports from posters here. I know from my own TS that it has examined the situation and passed it to a central co-ordination point, possibly the TS of the local Authority covering Cheltenham, where Matters Consulting / Survey UK operates from.

I'm leaving things as they are for the time being as we're going away for some weeks but on return will be dropping a line to my Member of Parliament to ask him if he will kindly find out from Trading Standards what progress is being made towards the prosecution of Matters Consulting / Survey UK in light of its deliberate and sustained marketing deception.

I received one of these in the post today thought it was to good to be true so checked on google and thanks to you I've escaped the scam. Its reached the Midlands now.:rotfl:
