The baggage allowance on Delta is now 1 bag at 23 kgs compared to virgin's 2 bags.
Yep I forget I get more with Delta as a frequent flyer -so to rephrase.....Virgin will keep very tightly to the limits of their baggage allowance-Delta are a little more relaxed and don't insist you repack/move stuff from hold to hand baggage etc if you're just a couple of kilos over.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

We have flown with Delta twice now. First planes were Airbus A330 with Seatback screens from LHR when they used to use the Northwest metal, now they use B767's from there. My golf clubs got delayed by a day on our return from Vegas and they sent us a $75 electronic credit each to use on future flights for our trouble. On top of that OH had an expensive pair of boots stolen from the bag, we put in a claim and 6 weeks later received a nice cheque for over £600.00. Last trip one of our bags got damaged, went to the Delta service desk beside the carousel at LHR, and new case was with us within 2 days. This is why we NEVER fly with LCC's if there is a legasy carrier alternative, even if it means paying more. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

As a non medallion, but a sky miles member, I found the staff at JFK very flexible with the baggage allowance. I had 2 cases, and one was 2kg over, the other was way under, and the lady on the desk was like, oh, that's not a problem, put a heavy tag on the bag, and sent me on my way....
US Airways, they're quite strict on making sure each bag is under the magic 23kg...
