My first batch of Oopsies are in the oven! Fingers crossed...........

Well they held their shape ok - I made sure I really whipped the egg whites and folded in the yolk/cream cheese mix.

They seemed a bit crisp amd crumbly when they came out of the oven (BF said they tasted ok - he is REALLY missing bread, but I'm not too bad) but they have gone a lot softer today (I kept them in an air tight container).

I had one as a parma ham and cheddar sandwich - it was quite nice to pick something up and take a bite!

I think I'll try them again but with some garlic or herbs in to make them a bit tastier.

I'm also going to try to make waffles with them by adding some vanilla and Splenda. (I've heard a bit of baking powder will help with the waffles.) It will make a change from Rowntrees sugar free jelly as my occasional sweet treat.

Any induction friendly muffin/choclatey recipes anywhere?

Well done for losing Gillette! My weigh in is tomorrow but I don't think that I've lost anything! :-(

I've got a bar of dark chocolate in my bag, I know I'm not allowed it for another week but I really really want to eat it, or just a square! I could have quit so many times this weekend as I have been so fed up with it, but everything I look at I think 'Is it good enough to break the diet for?'. I don't know what to do!

My BF isn't a fan of me on this diet, he says it's made me loopy; I'm wandering around in an airhead daze with only chocolate on my mind!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

That sounds like TORTURE.I would donate that bar to a worthy cause, if I were you.To be honest, I would have eaten it by now!!!! :rotfl:

  • I thought I'd copy over a post from another Low Carb thread forum that I started just to show the experience of another low carb Dr D participant.

Hi, all, how are you doing?
I've lost my holiday weight and am now at an all-time low, I cannot remember being so low.
Which is good, since I am going on a road trip next week, and I intend to eat apfelstrudel, sacher-torte, and all the goodies Austria and Germany have to offer!!

I have basically not changed the way I eat, because I don't feel like it.A little fruit and maybe a little more fat than usual, I've added coconut oil through home-made mayonnaise to my diet, as also putting some sour cream in the yogurt to increase fat content. Other than that I skip breakfast to control lunch hunger, and delay lunch on weekends to 3PM. This due to lazyness, and trying out the effect of Intermittent Fasting.

I must say I lose a lot on weekends now, instead of gaining, and my total calories remain pretty much the same. Now that my kids are coming back this weekend mode might change, let's see.

So, doing fine, and still amazed at how easy it all is.

Best of luck to you all!!!

Went to a party on Sat. night and the buffet was very good for low-carbers - ham, beef, chicken, coleslaw, tomatoes (rolls and roasties for those who wanted it). I think the several glasses of white wine were probably unnecessary :o.

OH has fallen off the wagon after losing 7lbs, but his portion size has reduced so hopefully he won't put it on too quickly.

DS2 (19) has also lost 7lb in 10 days, at 5' 8" he now weighs 10.5 stone and wants to lose another 7lb.

DD is dancing 3 nights a week and finding the inches are disappearing after a year on a student pasta/curry/toast diet! She has a new beau who offered to cook her a meal over the weekend. He presented her with prawn cocktail and salad for starters, poached salmon with stir-fry veg in 5-spice and strawberry sundae made with double cream for pud. All home-made. She was suitably impressed! (If it wasn't for the fact that she has only known him for a week, I'd have him down as future son-in-law material!)

Only lost 2lb this week, but I've had problems with not actually wanting to eat! Not hungry and don't fancy anything at all sometimes, but especially mornings.
Anyway, I've tried to do better today......

Breakfast. 3 small rashers bacon, 2 fried toms, fried egg.

    Lunch. Apple

Tea. Veggie burger (no bun, obviously!), mixed leaves, 2 cherry toms, coleslaw, mayo

Supper. Qtr green pepper with houmous

Treat. 1 square 80% choc, 2 coffees with cream

    plus lots of water!
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
