MoonRose, you must never run out of double cream! :D
  • I know 'mum' sorry :o I honestly thought I had another tub - consider my hands slapped. I swear the fridge ate it.
  • Good morning everyone including newbie :hello: Sorry, lost your name in amongst all the FB posts!!:rotfl:
    My menu for today
B - strawbs/blues & cream (my supply of double cream is getting dangerously low, could only get small tub in Co-op yday & none at all in Netto today!! ) Obviously a lot of low-carbers round my way!!:rotfl:
    L - egg mayo salad
D - half tin stewing steak & cheesy leeks & broc/cauli/green beans/peas (had this yday as well, minus the broc/cauli)
Hope everyone having a good day.
  • Ooops, forgot to say, I did my BMI (Body mass index) last night & I should be 6'3" for my weight & that's at the maximum bmi of 25!!
    I'm 5'6"!! Lol :rotfl: :rotfl:

D - half tin stewing steak

That sounds quite a good idea to have in stock for when you can't be bothered to cook more than a few vegetables. Is it nice? Do you buy a particular brand?

The one I have at the mo is called Grant's premium steak & was from Co-op - it's not bad & the gravy is nice. No carb contents on the tin tho. I've had them from M&S before & think it was approx 5-7g per half tin but don't quote me on that!! Have also had John West (from Home Bargains) & again, it's not bad. As you say, handy to have in store for when you can't be bothered to do much cooking.

I've posted on this thread before about wanting to try atkins.

I deffo do now! I'm sick of my crisp and biscuit binges, I've lost a load of weight (2lbs shy of 4stone) since last September/October, and now the weightloss has slowed right down, I'm lucky to loose 4lbs a month. Sucks! I did expect it to slow down, but I've still got 2stone to loose before I'm at the 25 on the BMI, so still a heffalump!

Was wondering if you have any book reccomendations, or a website (preferably) that gives you the info you need.

I don't want to be OTT on it, I want my diet coke! But really want to shift some lbs and tbh I KNOW pasta/rice dosen't agree with me. Hence why I ended up with faecal impaction (NOT NICE!) and have to take liquid laxatives everyday. Nice or what lol, can't prove it's carbs that do it, but since some days I exist on nothing but them, I blame them, and they deffo make me bloated and sometimes I vomit if I eat too much.

    I'll miss my bran flakes!!
  • Today's news from Sweden is about the way the smartest companies in Sweden are jumping on to the low carb way of eating.

Low carb berger A 90 gram hamburger guaranteed by the Swedish beef, served embedded in fresh leaves of iceberg lettuce with cheese, tomato, onion and Max original dressing.

And here this looks a nice low carb salad ready for take away

It will be great when we can find good low carb ready meals in our high street fast food places. Perhaps if anyone spots a restaurant or chain offering a low carb option someone could post a link. A bit of free advertising may encourage others to take the plunge.

yates used to do a lowcarb option but they stopped doing it about 2yrs ago, worse luck but there are quite a few places that are adaptable to lowcarb (even BK with no bun!!) .. some are just plain awkward tho and keep offereing u differnt types of potato despite u saying u dont want any and then refusing to give u a different veg in place without charging u more

button welcome again, it depends on what plan u want to follow as to what website we direct u to... if uw ant atkins then i would suggest the ivillage site where i posted all the rules and lists (am cl there btw but not promoting)... if u want one of the other plans then shout and someone will give u a link but as i say we do need to know which u want info on

sweet those tins of stew always look like catfood to me lol sorry

another thing good for cravings is cold coffe, ice, cream, sweetener and maybe a spoon of protein shake. whizz jusst like a frappucino!!
