My W760i arrived today from O2 and like others it did not come with Google Maps or Wayfinder Navigator. In fairness, the O2 web site does not list these applications as being bundled with the handset, but then most people will also look at the manufacturers web page to read about the handset... I did, so I was looking forward to Sat Nav on my moby!!
Rang O2 who confirm these apps are not on their release list for this handset. They were perfectly willing for me to send the handset back, but I think rather than that I will probably look into installing the apps myself (although Wayfinder is quite pricey, but there again I'd have only got a 3 month trial anyway).
I believe the normal Google Maps download does not interface with the A-GPS signal, and as such you only get an approximation of your location based on cell identification. I will look into getting a proper download that does the GPS thing and if I have any success I will post back here.

hi guys i've found this thread today... i don't know if you found an answer for your problems...
i have a w760i with base (e-plus i'm from germany)
i have the navigator & google maps software pre-installed on my mobile
but i don't want to pay the internet-connection
so i searched a while and i've found "mobile Gmaps"
its a freeware java application
it works with the gps in the mobile and you can use stored maps (so you don't need an internet connection)
i'm to lazy to explain how it works but go to http://forum.mgmaps.com/ <<there you can find all the answers you need
i hope your problems are solved with this application

p.p.s. if you have any questions feel free to ask
