  • What's not to understand?

I followed the instructions, there were no errors, it just didn't work. Also, I now get an error message when I start the phone. This is because the flash file given is for an unlocked phone, which mine isn't.

How do I restore my phone to the way it was originally using the other phone to copy from?

I had the same problem - I wonder if it's to do with the drivers, as I got error messages saying that they were not compatible with XP SP2, but I carried on to install them. The phone is recognised by the PC, the software downgrade and upgrade routines work and I can backup and restore the phone book to the PC, but it won't unlock.

    Have you tried www.howardforums.com

They are very helpful and you can usually find flexes of links to them on there if you do a search.

Has anyone NOT managed to unlock their phone yet? (v220). I have followed the step by step guide and I'm getting no errors, yet it just won't unlock the phone at all to my orange sim card. It appears as if the unlock program just does nothing.

    Any advice welcome!

Did you double check your software version to make sure it was the R364? Just that, when I first did the step by step, without first checking my software version, it said it had been unlocked, but it turned out that it hadn't because the phone had the newer software on it.

Also ... did all the drivers install? Took ages for all mine to install correctly. The first time I thought I'd cracked it, struggled for ages and it turned out it hadn't installed all the drivers. If it only pops up once or twice "recognising new hardware" then you need to remove the motorola modem in the device manager, restart and try again. It should pop up about half a dozen times with the new hardware pop-up. And then it might be worth restarting the machine again before you start unlocking. Oh - and make sure your phone is FULLY charged - I found the best thing to do was to fully charge it, put the phone into the service status, and then plug the charger back in.

And ... wasn't there another programme that should be running in the background as well when the unlocker was running?

shouldn't this be now moved to the Techie board as it seems it's getting a tiny bit complicated for the likes of me?

    You think that sucks!

Mine were either delivered to the wrong person at the wrong address or stolen by the DHL driver. As they were signed for by some real or made up person they have been "delivered" and O2 won't send replacements or refund my money.
Call your credit card company, explain the problem and ask them to initiate a charge-back.

Indeed. I sent them an email stating I would be doing so after 7 days if they didn't send a replacement.

    All links still work.

This is the unlocking file you need:
