I suspect very strongly that mine have been half inched by DHL too. I'd love to know how you got in contact with O2 though. I spent the whole morning phoning different numbers and couldn't find a single person who appeared to even realise they actually sell mobile phones.

Got all four complete now but gutted that I only ended up with 220s.:(

Got my V547 unlocked for a tenner at the market.
Anyone know how to get the O2 logo off the front Splash Screen when you turn it on ?

Did you try putting a different sim in before you unlocked it? My mum bought the V547, she put in her vodafone sim card and it worked straight away.

I think it depends on if the phone you got was intended as monthly contract or payasyougo. O2 monthly contract phones are usually unlocked but the payasyougo ones are usually locked.

Wow! Never knew about this "Useful Post" thing. Nor how big a fan club I currently have - I'm touched!

Although the £50 will probably be used to buy a cheap mobile phone or two as my ones from O2 have ironically still not turned up!

4) if you have R364, run the Motorola Unlocker:

To unlock, put the phone into service status by pressing simultaneously, '*', '#' & 'power on button'.

The screen on the phone should say 'USB Transfer Mode'.
If it doesn't, but says, 'Connect USB Data Cable' even when connected via USB, it means drivers are not installed properly. Install drivers again by pointing them to the DRV folder in the extracted P2KMAN folder.

If screen does say USB Transfer mode, run the Motorola Unlocker and if it says Successful, then your done!

I have tried to follow the instructions that psychy so kindly supplied in post #494 (abreviated above) and have gotten stuck when trying to run the unlocker program. I have successfully downgraded to R364 FW rev and confirmed this but when I then run the Unlocker Prog I get the following:

RFone found:)
Handle error:(

Any hints anyone??

I had the same error.

When installing the software in one of the steps, it asks you to reboot your PC, which of course I didn't! After rebooting my PC though, it unlocked it fine, so try rebooting first and then run the unlocker program.

Oh and by the way, I put my Orange SIM in after downgrading it to R364, but it said "Emergency Only" on the screen.

After I upgraded it back to R365, it recognised my Orange SIM fine and I was then able to make and receive calls. HTH.

Re-flash the handset with R364. I got handle error once, but upon re-flashing, it was ok.
Also, make sure your pc recognises the phone....check and double check drivers are installed and recognised, via Device Manager in Control Panel (System). It should be identified as Motorola Interface Device....if in doubt, uninstall drivers and reinstall.
