Went in to the branch in Oxford after work today, and they were totally out of the main courses in the deal, but had plenty of all the sides and desserts. Whatever idiot was in charge of doing the ordering should be shot! Hopefully I'll have better luck next time.

There was hardly anything in on Friday in our branch - bit more today, but still no chickens! Not even the medium ones! I wanted to buy the pain au chocolat dessert but a whole pack contains about 160g of fat! For the sake of my health, OH wouldn't let me pick it up...

I went to the one in Kew. They are pretty much out of the mains, except for chicken pie. I had to hurl myself at the shelves to grab the last 2 chicken breasts and salmon. My dad went to the one in Ealing, where they had the whole chickens still but no side dishes. They gave him a £5 voucher instead of the side which he can use until tomorrow. So worth a try if they are out of something.

I'm really cross, it said online oakham chickens and roast potatoes, now in my local they had oakham chickens and roast potatoes but they weren't on the end with the other £10 deal items so I asked was told no. The chickens on offer were normal chickens, I couldn't see anything special about the one I had picked up but wasn't allowed it so I left the meal deal.

Can anyone explain their chicken, was it the oakham one with herbs on the top and a little stuffing?

No, it's the plain medium or large oakham chickens, not the ones with herbs on.
  • mine doesnt have herbs or stuffing but is def Oakham Farm Assured Chicken on a brown label.

People buy the mains on their own, they aren't exclusive to the deal. If people fancy the meal but not the deal, they just buy it on its own, hence the lack of stock.

But surely with a well publicised offer like this they should order more stock - being sold out of the mains or most popular mains by 9am isn't good business sense. I would have probably done most of weekly shop there today alongside the £10 offer but didn't buy anything in the end and can't see the point in going back.
