I wanted to buy the pain au chocolat dessert but a whole pack contains about 160g of fat! For the sake of my health, OH wouldn't let me pick it up...

Yep some of those desserts are very bad.

People buy the mains on their own, they aren't exclusive to the deal. If people fancy the meal but not the deal, they just buy it on its own, hence the lack of stock.
True in theory. But surely if you were buying a main meal for 5.50, you'd be happy to spend an extra 4.50 to get wine, side dish and dessert. Maybe a few people would go for just the main, but not 50+.
  • Hello. The shops dont actually order their stock for dine for 2. It's automatically sent to them. My husband works for them. All the m and s round here have sold out of the deserts. However as people say it is back on in a fortnight. I always get there on thursday morning when it starts and wait for it to open!! That way I know i get what I want! And with my 20% discount its even better at £8!! p. s the pork is lovely- If you manage to get some that is!!!1

I didn't say the stores order it, I am saying that whoever orders it should make sure that when there is a publicised offer like this that they aren't sold out by 9am. They have lost my custom rather than gained anymore of it by their actions.
  • Oh went to M&S Coventry at 11am today.

    2x large chicken
    2x roasted vegetable sides
    1x sticky toffee pud
    1x choc fudge pud
2 x wine (we don't drink but will give them as christmas presents.

    Total = £20

The chickens alone would have cost £18. So we are pleased with our 2 puds and our 2 christmas presents for £2!

OH has divided the chicken up into erm parts and put it in freezer (can you tell I'm a veggie?:o )

Think I might look outfor the next offer of this type - mom and dad managed to get the chicken pie this time and have really enjoyed it - they said it will do two meals for them so they are really happy.

never go near M&S usually as I am not often in town so maybe next time I might make the trip.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

We bought 4 meal deals and were well impressed! £8.67 chicken x 2, chicken pie, and the Lochmuir lightly smoked salmon fillet. All were fabulous (froze 1 chicken) but the salmon was better than anything we had tasted in top restaurants (pan-fried for the first time!) Boys loved the chicken pie too. We got 2 lots of lemon souffle which were great served after a take-away with friends, a divine apple pie and sticky toffee pud. We're not M&S buyers normally but we'll see how much we can manage with this great deal on!! (Any more space in the freezer hub??) Saved £35 ish.

  • The Lemon souflee thingy was horrible, mine went in the bin. Really creamy, sweet and sicky.
Wish mine had had the fruit in stock.
    But the chickens were fab.
