My local M&S are only including the medium chicken as their whole bird option. I did ask if they would include their large birds and was looked at like I was stupid. No harm in asking is there!

Hi - Just to say that Shoreham branch have got 'large' chickens (i.e. £7.00 each) on the Dine for 2 deal. The mousakka was delicious and I haven't tried the red wine yet but am well pleased with the deal. Also bought a couple of new tops @ £5 each so a really good expedition. Thanks to the OP that heads up on this one (especially as I caught the clothes sale as well!!!)

** NOTE **

The Whole Oakham™ Chicken comes is 4 sizes - Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.

It appears that the size "on offer" (on the "promotional" shelves) is MEDIUM - I personally have seen a 1.75kg Medium at £5.78
HOWEVER I did find a LARGE with a "Dine for £10" sticker on it on the poultry counter, although it was a solitary chicken amongst about a dozen Large that DID NOT have the stickers.

I'm not sure at what weight (or price) Medium becomes Large but a £6.03 (1.83kg) chicken was labelled as Large.

The good news (according to another MSEer) is that LARGE appears to be included in the "Dine for £10" and they go through the till without issue.
SADLY the post states that Extra Large IS NOT and the offer doesn't work with XL.

Again I don't know at what weight or price L becomes an XL and there is a bit of a disagreement on the other thread.
There is a claim that £9+ chickens were obtained but the opinion is that these must be XL despite the other report.
Another says the the offer is for chickens UP TO £7.50
(maybe this is the top price of a Large ? Equates to 2.27 Kg which is EXACTLY 5lbs)
If this is correct (L <= £7.50 / 2.27kg < XL) then Medium to Large (in keeping with above figures) is probably £6 and 1.818kg - Or in "old money" 4 lbs

Hi,Went back to the Lancaster store this morning had medium and large chickens included in the offer bought another hugh chicken 2.130kg, one lady said to me she was going to have the chicken for sunday roast as it was big enough to feed a family.

Silverlink Wallsend store, we were going to pick up a medium chicken but the assistant said to take a large one as they are also in the deal.

WE got two chickens in our Torquay store both around 1.8 and 1.9 kg plus new potatoes for one meal and the asparagus for the second and then we had two trifles as they were definately more than a two person dessert! We got two deals as we only eat farm assured chicken and have paid up to £8 for a decent one before so this was great value.

Only problem was all the lovely fizzy rose wine was gone so we were stuck with boring chardonney which neither of us drink so that will be put back for gifts. I LOVED the fizzy rose last time.. we are not big wine drinkers but that was just delicious!

Apparently they had 5 cases delivered yesterday, which went fairly quickly and hadn't had any more delivered today.

the chicken we got was 1.996kg, the others they had were only around 1.4 so guess we were lucky getting a big one
