Well I'm back - and so is MSE:j
Had a good time with Ma & Pa. Completely "bottomed" her bedroom and ordered her a new carpet. She has a bit of a drinking problem (she likes a drink, he's scared that she'll become an alcoholic like his father = a problem) so there were quite a few empties to dispose of..... The old carpet had been there from the previous owners and was disgusting  and is now disposed of. So I came back home and had a really long hot shower because I'm now taking DS2 for lunch for a mystery shop(just got to get him out of bed somehow :rotfl: )
Also installed aged P's on Skype -they're utterly suspicious of it, but I told them that Popeye would refuse to let me visit them overnight if I couldn't Skype him whilst I was there. Pa believed me :rotfl:
Now I have a conundrum. Carpet available from next Saturday, they wouldn't pay £35 to have it delivered, it's not fitted, but it is large. They think they'll ask my bro.......,
1) I think they'll struggle to get him to do it at their convenience. (eg, absolutely no good 8pm at night, or at Pa's feeding time),
2)they (bro and nephew) won't take care of her "bits" or her feelings. (She has to be treated gently, because she'll have forgotten any arrangements made and will think that she is being bullied into doing something she didn't agree to)
So I think I'll have to miss the Leeds meet, and instead go down there to be on hand.
Popeye thinks I'm giving out signs of depression because I don't seem to go anywhere or do anything, whereas I used to be out all the time.
And I don't know what the best answer is.0 -

BAAAARRRRRRRRRRKING er insanely so0 -
It's a crazy time with new babies isn't it? Funny that deafness would be welcome :rotfl: :rotfl:
And good to grab that elusive sunshine while you can - we're having a thunderstorm at the moment .
But I've done my MS report.0 -
Oh Olive! Only just caught this, cos of Shaun's post. I'm sorry you have to miss the Leeds meet - are you sure thats the only way? You *do* sound like you struggle to keep on going sometimes, tho I know I do too (I've had one of those days, on 5 hours sleep - I went back to bed in the end, thats why I haven't been on here).
I doubt you're "clinically" depressed.... but of course, you're down. You're sort of like a one parent family at the mo, in a way, but Popeye is still there, its very confusing I would think. My sister's husband has been away for years for much shorter time spells, and she's talked of how odd it can be to have him back in the mornings, "interrupting" a smooth schedule that she and their DS had worked out.
Still thinking of the meet: is there any chance you can clear your mum's "bits" away, at least, and still get to the meet?
And what would help you feel better day to day? Aside from the obvious of having Popeye home?
I don't have an answer for you, but sending lots of hugs in your direction.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks Kc, I'm feeling a bit better.
DS2 was infuriating, in the end I phoned a friend and her OH was giving her grief, so we went out for this meal. We had a great time catching up, but the service was slow, the food was apalling and they've had a robust report :rotfl: :rotfl:
I don't think I'm depressed, a bit blue. Popeye is urging me to go to Leeds, DD is driving us, she'd like to show me her house so I'm hoping I can persuade my bro' to do his duty.Failing that, I'll go down on the Sunday.
If I opened a bottle I think I'd feel better, but Popeye has lost weight so I need to improve my weight loss otherwise we're going to look like a postcard couple on the beach in 20 days time(you know the ones? big woman in a floral costume and hat, with a henpecked little man?)

hi
depression ...so many different forms
if you cant be bothered to do basic house work, wont to sleep all day and have anxiety about going down the shop or talking to other people even friends
then go to the dr and get help.
this is depression at its worse........been their wrote the book
if you get like this once or twice a week then you need counciling and they can forward you to the dr if you need it .
i would say slight depression looking at your post
doing every thing by yourself oh away kids eth ,,,,your tired and probably need a rest
give your self an hour me time in the evening
read .go for walk or along bath
early nights 3 x wk and 30mins daylight walking will help pick you up/
if it dont go get help
haven't forgot your living abroad qs just short of time and think the depression q more important

Shaun, you're so right
I've been depressed once, and I do my darndest to protect myself from a reoccurence, and am always very gentle with myself.
But I'm doing nothing except read peoples diaries at the moment. Not even posting muchand then I feel cross with myself for not doing more constructive stuff. There's no way, if Popeye was here I'd have sat at this computer for hours yesterday, but I did.:o (some of that time was Skyping him)
And the disagreement I had with DS2 yesterday was horrible, but I know that my reaction, although I was right to be offended, was over the top, because that little cruel streak of his, is so very much like his father..........
I'm going to resist my parents pressure (oh it would be so nice if you could spare the time, your mother trusts you/our day is so much brighter/you know how your brother can be ) and I'm jolly well going to go to the Leeds meet. That'll be my ME time(remind me of this on wednesday when I'm vacillating)
So before then I must:- mow the lawn
- weed the bed at the front that is full of brambles-without-blackberries
- clean the house entirely
- get a case down for my holiday
- list some stuff on e-bay (Tuesdays task)
- also on Tuesday, get my !!! over to the drama group which I've been missing.
- cook some meals for DS2 because I'll be away overnight and he's only 18  (cancel that last one - he's 18)

Morning! Glad you could take a mate along for the meal - and yes, thats how it had sounded, "blue", absolutely - nothing a nice meal with a mate (and the odd glass!) won't chase away. I had the odd glass with some mates last night too, it was fun, back to debtbusting this morning - 3 sessions and a mystery shop, with assorted other stuff slotted in. Have a good one!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

You too Karma.
I'm going to stroll gently to work as I think that will help in more than one way.I've just been hanging around waiting for Sophiesmum's thread :rotfl: but I'd better get into gear and go.
