Day 36 and I'm cogitating changing my thread title -again. I'm not sure I want constant reminding of the extra week added.
It is gloriously sunny, I was planning all sorts of indoor work over the weekend, but if there's a slight chance the forecasters have got it wrong again  I'll try and get out in the garden. Funny how the mown lawn makes the untidy borders less obvious....... but there's still loads that needs doing. And I'll be visiting the aged P's on Sunday.
Here's what I'd like to achieve in the next 3 days:
    • Clean fridges, and get one turned off. (When the house is full the little one in the kitchen isn't big enough, esp. with beer drinkers in the family :rotfl: )
    • weed the front garden (I'm sure this task has been carried forward a week :o )
    • change my bed (I think I'd be embarrassed to admit how long it is since this was done - I think I mentioned the last time in my diary. Only excuse is that I've changed sides and I'm sleeping on the clean side....:o )
    • Ironing
    • Sunday evening put aside for writing. (I've said this aloud now, so I have to do it - if you see my green light on then SHOUT AT ME please)
In the meantime I received £4.65 from Amazon.:p
And listed ONE thing on e-bay yesterday :o My excuse is that I had trouble submitting an MS report last night. Does anyone else get to the 99% completed, please add to this question, and NOTHING they type gets past this point? The only way I've got around it has been to save, log-off, and on again; come back to it and the answer is then empty awaiting a response. (This is for RE)

:o Had jaffa cakes for breakfast

And I've copied a chocolate refrigerator cake recipe from Hypno's diary which will form part of my "baking" :o

    Day 36 Part II
All this healthy eating is taking its toll. I have the ingredients for a refrigerator cake (also picked up some more humous :o ). But I've had to clear up the kitchen after DS1 & gf have left it messy.  No idea where they've gone, but I know what they've had to eat all day. So much for Popeye's plan that the adult children would look after me while he was away, they've reverted to teenage behaviour

So this evening I have been watching the Olympic ceremonies, and clearing the detritus. I'm about to open a bottle of wine - I may reget that.

I'd so hoped to potter in the front garden because the nosy neighbour is out on Friday evenings. But if I let their mess stay, it will multiply faster than fleas. Anyway it's been damp out there.

moan moan moan grumble grumble, where's the corkscrew?

    Day 37
I'm getting seriously teed off with this weather! Flaming August? They're having a laugh. Probably when I leave the country in September there'll be an Indian Summer. :p
I'm eating junk which isn't good for my health, my weight and my energy levels. Today I had:
Piece of refrigerator cake for breakfast (quality control you understand?0
    Toast and butter for lunch
Another piece or two of the cake for teatime :o
Humous and breadsticks for supper, and then all the roasted squash I'd done for a risotto, but without actually making a risotto......
And I finished off the wine. :D

    Pretty stodgy.

    But I've done a mystery shop. :D

Which will only pay half the charges I incurred when my free overdraft expired this month. This is on a quiet account where my Quidco money goes in, and I knew I was overdrawn, I even had the money in my current account ready, but the days slipped by.......b*gg*r  I was getting SMUG about the newly streamlined finances :o

Skyped Popeye and he admitted he's been on here lurking in my blog :rotfl:
    how rude does that sound!

Visiting the aged P's tomorrow, I'd far rather curl up with my new books from the charity shop. :o

Actually, Olive, that sounds really sweet, that he's lurking here. I know blokes hate being called sweet, but there you go.....

Ha Ha KC, that should put him off :D
How can I moan about him if he reads my moans?

Last night I asked him if I were the complaining sort......and he said yes  I'm always complaining he's not there.....
On reading my diary, he's right :o

Haven't posted much, things keep happening.
DS1 had an accident, the car sounds like a right-off (after he's spent the last 2 years working on it  ) He can't cancel the tax & insurance because where he is he can't SORN it, and he can't get it home....... He & gf are OK but sorting it out isn't easy.... (there's no warranty if you DIY  )

DS2 & DD get home today. Had a txt late last night to ask if I was picking them up from the airport  I didn't even know what day they were returning....and I can't get away from work. So they have a long public transport journey (do I care? Have they just had a lovely holiday? Course I do, and I feel guilty that I'm not there for them. But fancy landing on a Monday and not pre-arranging the transport. Their Dad will have to sort them out!)

Aged P's were in a bit of a state yesterday, so I stayed longer. When I left they were much cheered, and I felt useful. But I was cream crackered last night. It just isn't fair that the weather was fine enough to do their garden this weekend, but chucked it down everytime I was home :rotfl:
  • Hope they are both ok olive, and hello to popeye if he is lurking..
Hope you have had a better day today, and i know what you mean about August..i just dodge the rain now..am resigned to forever having hair that will curl up in that fine rain..
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

I wish I had curly hair :o DD spends a fortune straightening her lovely curls :D Aren't we contrary?
Welcome back Bob - was Cornwall wet?? How unusual :D

Day 40 and I'm allowed back on the computer :D
DS2 monitors my usage closely, but as he is suffering from jet-lag the coast is clear in the morning :D Tomorrow is half way, I ought to be pleased, but actually I'm feeling flat again. Possibly the weather?

DS2 complains that as he has been a DS longer than DS1 (step child) he should have the number one slot. I've told him that it is strictly age-ority order. We spent sometime last night on the MSE site discussing his finances when he is at uni in October. In a way it is our debt that is ensuring that we equip our children properly with financial knowledge. Because over the last couple of years we've obsessed with cashflow and getting the best for our money that we could, they are learning how to avoid crippling debt. (apart from DD's smoking  ) and how to get the most out of their income at the very outset. :D

I think I need to make a to do list, I'm lacking get up and go at the moment. (it's got up and went) So today:
    • make packed lunch with my HM bread & HM refrigerater KitKat substitute.
    • Take something back to Lidls. Maybe get some stuff there.
    • If it ever stops raining, touch up the scrape on DD's car so it can't go rusty. (DS1 was going to do that.....)
    • LIST SOMETHING ON E-BAY. My excuse last night? I hadn't got my glasses on so couldn't identify the photographs I'd taken :rotfl:
    • Finish clearing the cupboard of OOD food. (Refrigerator cake & Weetabix cake a direct result of starting that job:T )
    • Make a menu plan with DS2 using the other food cupboard and the freezer as a starting point. Calamari surprise?
    • Clean kitchen again.
