light is fading, the 'human error' had been lying there from the 22nd May or earlier. This date was on the ticket that I handed to the manager and I pointed this out to him, so they had more than a month to notice the error. Jane is correct to say that people can change price tickets to suit themselves on occasion, but this practice must be becoming rare as less shops actually use individual price ticketing, alomst everything is bar coded and scanned these days. I cannot believe that anyone would just accept someone telling them that a price is £30 more than it states on the shelf. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I think that on this occasion, Currys should give my sister her money back. We will see what happens, watch this space..........
  • You could, of course, look at some other local retailers and find it cheaper than £89.99 and then take advantage of their 110% Price Promise....

Items for sale in a shop are "invitation to treat", you make the offer when you say "I will buy the goods for £x's", the shop then either accepts or declines your offer.

Another option you could have said to the manager was that they were falsely advertising the goods, which I believe is against the fair trades or goods for sale act, something like that. If they are advertising it at £59.99 they should really out of principle sell it to you for £59.99, then change there advertising to the correct amount.

would you hve told the shop if it was the other way round? advertised at £90 got to the till and they only charged you £60 (without knowing) would you have mentioned it then?
a shop keeper opens a shop, invites you in, look at the wares, and to make a purchase, the contact of what they are charging doesnt happening until payment. And if its a genuine pricing error has the ability to correct the price before the transaction. The shop keeper doesnt have to sell anything to anybody if they dont want to, it still belongs to them until you have exchanged.

I actually would have Dazzer as I own a gift shop myself. I accept that most people would keep quiet if the shoe was on the other foot, but personally I would let them know if they were shortchanging themselves.:A

posting id, I thought about this also as they have a big poster about this as you enter the shop, but only if the goods are available to you and are not out of stock. Boots is selling exactly the same shaver at £59.99 but it is out of stock, so they would not honour the price promise because of this.

You never said in your original post that the price had been there that long. And for all you know (unless you had been in there previously) that price ticket had been put out the day before. The date on the price ticket is NOT (necessarily) the date the ticket was put out, often it's the date that the price is valid from/until depending on the shop's system.

Personally, i can't believe that anyone would buy a product if they didn't want to pay that price for it. If you didn't like the price... why did you buy it? why 'should' Currys give her her money back? It's their money now, she gave them the money requested, they gave her the product, deal done.

[edit] just to clarify, i am aware that it's your sister who paid for the goods, however for clarity I refer to you as it's your post and seemingly your battle.

I am fair person, in turn I like to be treated in the same way. In this case I think Currys are being unfair. You have not given me any useful information or even constructive critisism although you are entitled to your 'opinion' I suppose. If you look at earlier posts I have made, I would give one of my customers their money back if I had incorrectly priced an item. Who are you anyway, the MD of Currys?

Light is fading, perhaps you should read over your own posts (the ones about pie fillings), where you are calling savage vixen rude and sarcastic. Pot and kettle springs to mind there methinks!!! :p
