I have had 3 stages with ironing in my life.........
stage 1: When first married and had children ironed EVERYTHING
stage 2: Started to get fed up with it and paid somone else to do it. :embarasse
stage 3: I wash, I dry , I fold , I iron as and when it is needed :rotfl:
When it got to me , oh and 6 kids in house ironing seemed pointless as kids just took clothes out of drawers, decided not to wear them and they went on floor lol
So now at night hubby irons his uniform as and when needed, daughter does the same night before her shift. I wear mostly tshirts and track suit bottoms that mostly do not need ironed, body heat takes out any creased lol
If I am going out I will iron the clothes lol.
BIggest shock I have heard is a friend who does not even own an iron  although I hate it have to do it sometimes :rotfl:TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
My life has become such a whirl at the moment that I have two choices ...
1. Read this thread.
2. Do some ironing. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi SmileyS,
There was a recent thread with lots of hints and tips on reducing the ironing that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

this is a video of the japanese folding technique for tee shirts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5AWQ5aBjgE&feature=related There's another one on same page with English translation but the demonstrator takes ages to get to the point!
There was a similar post somewhere on the boards a while back but couldn't find it0 -
I or my DD or DS wash on Saturday one load of whites DS has to wear a white shirt everyday for work, one or two loads of darks depends on quantities in baskets, we have two dirty washing baskets one in our bathroom and one in the family bathroom.
Out of washer into TD and as soon as it stops the clothes are out, shaken and put in a basket for each person, DS irons his own shirts, they go on hangers. DH irons his own shirts if they need it. DD does any ironing of her stuff she thinks needs doing I iron my linen trousers if the need it.
I don't have an ironing basket as such I hate looking at piles of ironing ....0 -
I'm married to a policeman who, thankfully, is very particular about his shirts so does his own, and quite often a lot of mine as well. If I have to do it myself I do it in the evening, in front of the TV!
My Nan only irons the collars of blouses she knows she will be worn under a jumper, and only the front of things that will be worn under a cardi!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
