Well, with OH's bankruptcy booked for 8th July at 9.30am, he hasn't even looked at the forms yet!
I've filled in as much as I can, but I don't know it all! eg - what tools to list and their value? I've told him and told him, he has to do this and do it properly otherwise, he might be refused and he's just not interested!
On top of all that, I've had a notice of hearing today from the courts, it is a possesion hearing for the house, I have to attend, it's for 12th August at 11am, I don't know what I should do? Do I need to prepare anything to take with me?
Also heared off the CAB who have basically closed our file, despite me leaving them numerous answering machine messages and sending them letters requesting an appointment with the case worker - I've just had the door slammed in my face!

I think a call to National Debtline or CCCS may be in order. The CAB seems to be having lots of problems recently, due to staffing problems and under funding.
I am afraid there isn't a lot I can do about your DH. Has he been on here at all?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Yes, self employed guys, the garage is rammed with his stuff and I wouldn't know where to start or what to include.
Also, he has a credit card, the forms want the account number and I don't know it? And I don't know what heowes on it either?
We've also got to work out the SOA and I don't know what to put for his petrol costs, insurance etc, I don't know his bank account number or how much is in there so I can't do any more that I've already done.
Is it worth ringing cccs or national debtline? I rang them before and I am waiting for our tax credits award to come through so I can finalise our income, there isn't really anything else I can tell them0 -
Next time he is sat in front of the TV then grab the forms, turn off the TV and say right we need to go through these NOW.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I would be tempted to throw them at him and say "here do em yourself". That is not useful though:o . Is he in denial, always like this or just being awkward?. If you live together then does he not have statements delivered to your home?. I am a bit confused over why you do not have any details of his accounts, sorry if that sounds like i am prying, but am trying to understand the situation in order to offer advice.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Or.... perhaps a carrot and stick approach???
Dress as provocatively as you can, sit at the table and tell him that he can have his "present" when he's finished..............................................:kisses2:
(Okay - I know that's not the most helpful post, but sometimes with these things, if you don't laugh you end up crying)0 -
Maybe hes not ready to face BC just yet? Maybe you should reschedule the appointment, as your cutting it fine with the forms and info you need.
Edit: From the blokes point of view. Is he seeing it as your taking control of a situation that he should be dealing with, and not very happy about it (maybe he feels unmansipated (sp!))"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Hi Wot a life,
What is his trade and how long has he been self-employed or contracting? I've done enough financial accounts over the years to make a reasonably accurate estimate of the value of his tools. It would help if you could just have a look and post or P.M a list of big items, or take some photos and email them to me. I once had to audit a livestock farm and the cows wouldn't stand still and be counted; I had to get on a barn roof and take photos;:rolleyes: I got my audit done.:D:D
If you don't know the account number just put the card provider and make the card number up. The Court won't need to know and the O.R will be able to get the details without any problems. I would guess he's got about £226.66 in his bank account; best estimate will suffice.;)
As for the repossession order there's plenty of time there, and basically all you need to do is turn up, explain that you've had some financial problems but you're now in a position to commence mortgage repayments and £50 pcm off the arrears.
I wouldn't try and force his hand to be honest; I think a nice seductive outfit, complete with seamed stockings and high heels should get him to court on time;:o:owell it would me.:D:D
Best regards

Thanks for the posts guys,
He is always like this, nothing gets done unless I do it, he will and does leave everything to me and I don't just mean the financial side of our marriage, the mortgage, bills, housekeeping, maintenance, you name it, I do it with the help of my kids.
He is in the building trade and has been SE for about 15 years, he goes straight to the pub every night after work and then comes home and drinks some more, this is every night and it hasn't been caused by the financial mess we are caught up in, he's done this for the last 3 or 4 years. This has caused some of the financial problems if anything.
I've mentioned the forms to him twice since his date was booked, I won't nag him, it's up to him now what he does. I told him on the phone yesterday that we had a repossesion letter for a hearing, he said we would discuss it when he got back, he came home at 11pm and fell asleep in the chair with a can of lager in his hand.
I just dispair!0
