Hi all, I usually buy Persil washing powder and now have some soda crystals, in order that I use only half the normal washing powder.
Can anyone recommend another brand of washing powder that is just as good, but cheaper?
Many thanks,

Which essential oils would you recommend that smell nice? I was thinking of some lavender?0

Wow, this thread has been going for over three years - found it in a search loking for white vinegar.
Lavender is lovely as is orange or lemon. You might find that the naturalness of essential oil and no chemicals to hold it in place might not leave a very strong smell - it migt be better to add the essential oils on a cloth whent he load is almost dry rather than from the start.0 -
For really good essential oils for cleaning and laundry look at http://www.summernaturals.co.uk they will do up to 100 ml on some essential oils at a really good price so you can wash and clean without it costing a fortune.
I use orange essential oil with soda crystals in my mop bucket and in cleaning solution so I use loads of it.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -

Oh, just come across this thread and fascinated. My friend is a smoker just about to give up. Is there anyway she can use white vinegar in a water solution to clean off the smells from her soft furnishings? Does white vinegar basically do the same as things like Febreeze in that respect?
Also, has anyone bought that Reader's Digest book recently advertised on tv with something like a 1001 money saving tips?Integrity is a dying art!:p0 -
By way of a "bump"... found this site Clean and Green: Natural Homemade Household Cleaners. A lot of stuff that appears elsewhere on the board, but hopefully some new ideas, too."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
