Got up this morning to find the bottom of my dishwasher covered with bubbles and the washing up still looking a bit yucky.
Should I run it empty with some vinegar in it? How much should I use? I'm trying to cut down on using it anyway since I found how much electricity it uses, my bills are horrendous but I can't afford to lose it completely as I do so much cooking and the washing up is my eldest's daily chore. She'd move out if I lost the dishwasherOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

It sounds like it's not emptying properly. Try cleaning out all your filters properly and don't forget where the pipe joins in under the sink - that's where mine always clogs up with the larger bits of food that get past the filters, like rice. Once you have got everything clean so that the water can flow properly, then yes, good old vinegar to the rescue. Give it a hot wash with vinegar and then do it every so often to keep the pipes clear.0

Thanks Ticklemouse, I didn't know where the filters were as I bought this one second hand about two years ago and now I am going to brain my son when he comes home.
He's been in charge of loading the dishwasher for the past week and I've taught them all to scrape their plates and give them a quick rinse under the cold tap before they put anything into the dishwasher.
I've just found the filter loaded with spiral pasta and a piece of plastic so guess who hasn't been doing the job properly this week?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi guys, wondering if you can help? I need to clean my deep fat fryer but not sure what to use on it to get it sparkling clean. I always have a job to clean all the outside and lid of grease any ideas? I've been reading on here and was wondering if a bi carb paste may work? I am new to all this so haven't got round to trying anything I've read on here and would like to start with this.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

Bio powder sprinkled over the bottom (quite thick) then pour boiling water over then leave it for aaaaaaaaaages! Over night and all day, longer if poss. Don't change the water, don't do anything, just leave it. Then any grease will just wipe off. When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
Thanks galtizz, will this work on the outside of the fryer and lid, I don't have to many probs cleaning fryer bowl inside.Would it need to be a paste? When you said bio powder did u mean bicarb? Sorry to be a pain, as I said new to this. Thanks:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11
