Hi, how did you get on?0 -
I checked out some of the websites you guys posted - they're not bad at all if you need a cheap casual pair. The problem is when it comes to designers, they charge just as much as the high street optician - so where's the online saving?!
I personally know an optician based in Leicester who's started selling online. And when he talks about designers at bargain prices - he means just that!
www.directvizion.co.uk
No one I know offers FREE recorded delivery on all orders (no minimum).
No one offers £10 glazing service (new lenses).
14 day peace of mind guarantee - he's registered business (Direct Vizion
LLP) so he couldn't go back on his word.
Police, Dkny, Diesel, Burberry, Cerruti, Tommy Hilfiger, Fila, Shanghai Tang, Polo, Gant and Guess - are his designer collection.
The website: www.directvizion.co.uk
I'm partly helping you save your pennies and partly doing the old man a favour.
I personally ordered Casual 136 for £25.00... they're nice and keep me ticking0 -
I really have to sing the praises of Ciliaryblue. I did post my experience with them a week or so back. I received the prepaid box within 48 hours of ordering online. I posted off my well worn frame and terribly scratched lenses. Within two days the lenses were back, absolutely fantastic. I have no hesitation in buying frames off the web (delighted with designer ones bought from www.giarre.com, again excellent service and delivered to me by tracked courier from Italy) and will get the lenses fitted by Ciliaryblue at a fraction of the cost a local Optician will charge. :T
Most of the sites seem to stock "specsaver" styles but if you do want a specific designer pair and can get the frame number you can definitely save at least 50%SallyD0 -
Only used two sites so far one was www.glassescrafter.co.uk for which my glasses arrived after 6 weeks but with the wrong prescription and wrong model number was shipped from china for which there was no mention about. The other site was www.ispectacle.co.uk which was complete opposite, glasses arrived in under a week and paid under £40 for bench glasses. Would highly recomend.0

Hi all
I ordered one pair of glasses from www.best4glasses.co.uk on Monday and received on Friday.
total cost was £10.00 with free delivery -£ 1.00 for cashbackkings.com= £9.00.
I found them very very good and is completely satisfied with the product.
thanks to all of you for all your posts here by which i came to know that i can purchase glasses so cheaply online.0 -
I've started a rant in another thread about the price of specs as even these cheap ones dont go much above +/- 7.00
Those of us up in the +/- 9 to 10 range still cant get a cheap pair
*grrrrrrrr*
I've just found out I can't get a voucher as I'm on JSA and not IS even though they pay the same amount!
I will presevere for Hi index 1.9 glass, -9.75 . If I find any under £200 I will post back0 -
I would be cautious about this retailer. I ordered a pair of glasses, and when they still showed up as 'waiting' after 18 days, I emailed them. I got a reply saying sorry, the frame I ordered wasn't available, but I could order a different one. Obviously this would mean another long wait - if they had told me straight away it would have been fine. I asked for a refund, but it took a long time. Thay basically only seem to reply to an email the following day, and they sent me the same reply about ordering a different frame, totally ignoring my request for a refund. I would quess from the time of their replies, and the syntax/ English that they are not in the UK - they give a Uk address but no phone number. I did eventually get my refund, but did not get pair of glasses when I needed them!0

I have just bought some varifocals from the high street. I had a prescription from a different opticians, but didn't like their range.
however when my glasses arrived the lens in the left eye was wrong - that is to say it was made to the prescription but the prescription axis was wrong, the second optician gave me another partial test to check the original prescription and found this out.
Now as its not their fault, technically I would have to go back to the issuers of the wrong prescription and argue that they should pay for a replacement lens; luckily the opticians I went to (S H Harrolds) were really good about it and sent the glasses back at no cost to me so I didn't have to argue about it.
So beware when you buy and get prescription from two diff opticians: if I did it again I would not book the eye test until I had discovered frames I liked so that I could do it all in the same place.0 -

do 1.9 for +$178 single vision on op of their regular prices.
I have had 3 regular pairs and very impressed by the quality, not as cheap as somewhere like www.goggles4u.com which I also use.0
