I wanted to report back on my on-line specs ordered from www.giarre.com based in Italy.

My questions were answered fully via phone and email before ordering.

They arrived via DHL Courier today, about 10 days in all, I missed the first delivery. The site fully complies with the EU Distant Sellings Regulations.

I am so,so happy with them.

They have a very good selection of current "Designer" ranges price includes standard lenses, I opted to pay extra for coating.

I really am delighted with them....

    Hi all,
I got a bit worried after I'd placed my order with Glassescrafter then saw some mixed reviews on here. However, 2 weeks after placing the order, I received my specs today. Am very happy with them. Granted they came all the way from China, but they seem decent quality, and for £40, not too bad at all. Specsavers quoted me £200 for a very similar frame (plus thinned lenses...)

The only thing I'd comment on is that the 'premium case' is not all that premium.. It reminds me of a pencil case.

Anyway, all in all, after a bit of worrying whether I'd ever receive them, I got them today and am quite happy with them :-)

    :money:(lol I like this pic...)
  • I am looking for some wraparound (wrap) prescription sunglasses for around £30.
Can anybody recomend a site that sells such sunglasses?

They have a pair I like at http://www.opticalmailorder.co.uk/ . Has anybody used this site?

    I also like this pair:
http://www.exclusiveeyes.co.uk/prescription-sunglasses/e10-psg-m-53-18-115.htm , but have heard they have poor customer service and their orders don't always turn up?

    Please help!

  • I have recently purchased 4 pairs of glasses for various members of my family.

    I can highly recommend

    http://www.specsdirectory.com/

(good pair of designer sunglasses, great communication and quick delivery)

    http://www.goggles4u.com/

(cheap pair of well made rimless glasses from Pakistan, free lens coatings etc plus quidco cashback)

    http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/

(Good pair of cheap glasses with quidco cashback)

They all had quick delivery and good communication.

    I would NOT recommend

    http://www.exclusiveeyes.co.uk/

The first pair of glasses I ordered apparently got lost in the post, the replacement pair, 3 weeks later, got damaged whilst they were being packed. The same happened to the third pair- then they ran out of stock. I was then offered any 2 pairs from their site for the inconvenience, but they would not give me my money back. 1 pair I selected arrived fine after 10 days, the other pair apparently got damaged again- and they had no more in stock. I selected another pair I didn’t really want which arrived after 10 days –some 7 weeks after my original order. Not happy. To top it all they were taking up to 9 days to reply to my emails and have no contact phone number.

Just ordered replacement lenses from https://www.ciliaryblue.com costing £20. They send a box for you to post the glasses off with a copy prescription. Will post the results..........and time taken.

  • I ordered Frame W12 from opticalmailorder and was very pleased - I called them before I ordered, to ask about the pupilary distance, and the chap was very helpful.
  • goggles 4u have cheap high index lenses, cr39 plastic 1.67 index and the 1.71 high index mineral lenses are the same price, which would be better im quite high prescription left -6.75 right -5.25 , id imagine the mineral would be better as higher index is thinner and less easy to scratch?
