    Would Autoquake care to respond?

an ebay feeback score of 91% over less than 90 transactions in 12 months. Would have thought that was quite poor.

    A competitor at:http://stores.ebay.co.uk/UKAutosite-All-cars-RAC-inspected has a 100% feeback on 100 transactions over 12 months.

Good point. Well I think theres quite a simple solution for all this. Pay on a credit card (so you get the section 75) and if the car you are after is on ebay buy it on there from their shop.

You therefore should have two types of protection in place if they do mess up?

Yes not a bad review but also check out the comments afterwards. Last year I saw a car they had and tried to get in contact with them on the phone and just went into a stupid endless automated menu-useless! I'm spending alot of money and wanted to speak to a human with some knowledge about the car I wanted to buy! I gave up in the end.
Their cars do seem (a bit) cheaper but thats no good if they won't talk to you. Its always the same thing with this sort of company, it all looks good but when you try to use the service it doesn't work. Any company that asks for money upfront is well worth avoiding:eek: . Next!!

I think you are being very childish with that comment as you are NOT handing over cash at this point. Pay by a credit card (and yes its the £100 limit) you can claim it straight back from your provider if anything goes wrong. The £100 is required as they will get loads of people reserving cars then doing nothing with them. And also the 2.9% fee does NOT relate to this.

I actually reserved a car and after a while (realised the insurance would be too expensive) simply sent them a quick e-mail and the money was back in my account, not a peep from them since.

I think some people just need to get with the times....I would rather buy from someone online with a card (and therfore paper trail) than some random greasy guy in a suit.

I don't agree, its not that easy to claim back from credit card companies and according to this forum its not easy to get money back from Autoquake.

In my personal experience (which is what this site is about) this company appears great but the reality is they are rubbish. They have a flash website but no clue when its comes to real time communication. I tried 10-12 times to contact someone at Autoquake over a 3 day period and got nothing. If after that experience they expect me to hand over £100 anyway on a car that I've seen a few photos of they must be barking mad.

If thats a childish viewpoint then I'm happy to hang up my reigns of adulthood.

Well I can't argue with your opinion nor experience just that during my experience with the company they were more than helpful with me. They rang me up to ask when I wanted to view the car etc, and each time I rang them I got through in around 3/4 rings.

    I don't know - maybe I was just lucky?:money:

Perhaps luck is involved when dealing with this company maybe they should mention that on their shiny website!!!
I do get tired of these internet companies that start up and promise the world without any ability to follow through on their promises. They're good at shouting from the roof tops but when it comes to it the only thing they're actually good is things like taking deposits and giving low quality service.
As for their eBay feedback if you read back through it, its rubbish too!
I see there is another company called 'carquake' are they the same?
