Put pots back in pan with a drizzle of oil or nob of butter & bash pots against pan (or is on SW use fry light!) and then put in roasting tin at 200, giving a shake after 20 mins. Meanwhile pots Get 3 chicken breasts and chop into bits...fry an onion (if you have one!) in a large pan with the moroccan spices (i usually use a wok!) then fry the chicken in it; add tin (or two if larger quanity needed) of toms and add seasoning to flav; chuck in a tin of chick peas and leave to simmer (at this stage give the pots a shake - they should start to be getting crispy by now!) and leave for 20 mins or low heat for 3/4 hr...then dish up and enjoy!

Am sure someone will beat me to this
but can think of five meals with little expense...
moroccan lamb chops with chickpeas and cous cous
chicken curry with rice (use 3 breasts)
chicken "Burgers" (breasts in a bun) and onion rings
sausage casserole (using 8ish of the sausages)
sausage pasta ("recipe" below)
buy 1 bag cous cous, 2 Value bags of pasta, 1 bag rice, 1 pack rolls and some extra veg?
"Recipe" for sausage pasta
remove skins from sausage (don't need very many as the meat is quite rich) and break up into a frying pan. Then treat it as if it were mince-add tinned toms and herbs or lemon juice and creme fraiche and any veg lying about. V cheap and makes a change!
hope this helps xRemember to always be yourself-unless you suck. Joss Whedon0 -

By the way, I'm another (ex) Welsh girl - born in Chirk and went to school in Llangollen (North Wales) - now living in Herefordshire. I remember, as a child, foraging was just a normal part of everyday life in the Ceriog Valley. We used to pick masses of tiny, sweet, wild strawberries walking up the lane from school; along with blackberries, bilberries, etc. My Dad was a keen fisherman (the River Ceriog was just one field away) and we used to eat so much freshly caught Rainbow & Brown Trout, that we were sick of it !!! Dad would also catch Pike and other strange fish that were transformed into substantial, yet cheap, meals. He also did a bit of poaching (oops!!) so we reguarly ate rabbit, hare & pheasant. My parents had very little money but we ate like kings. Happy days!
Used to go into Chirk and Llangollen regularly whilst on holiday there. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
if you had a £10 tesco voucher (from surveys) - what would you buy to stock up ?? (if baby not here by Sunday will be on a raspberry leaf hunt LOL)0

If you like pizza, i make mashed potato pizza. Mash up spuds with milk and butter/marg, salt and pepper. Place on tray and put in oven, until top slightly hard.
Tomato base is -1 tin of toms, hebs, and garlic, all in pan and reduced down, about 20 mins,
Toppings-mushrooms, toms, meat and of course cheese.
Place tom sauce and layer your toppings of choice-should come in at anything from 50p -£1 depending on price of goods.
And it is so filling i defy anyone to move after, and very moreish and free on green day on slimming world. (minus the butter)
What a brilliant idea I'm definetely going to try this.Debt at LBM July 06 £35,908  now £2,250 ish0 -
Hi
I've been lurking on this thread and find it fascinating.
I notice some of you are doing slimming world. I've know a really cheap recipe for tortillas that are free on a green day.
1 pack of value lasagne sheets
Put oven on hottest. Spray a baking tray with fry light oil (free).
Bring a pan of water to the boil and put in a few sheets of lasagne (I used ot put in no more than 3 at a time). Boil for three minutes.
Take out and cut into any shape you want. Place on baking tray. Keep going until baking tray is full up.
Spray with fry light and put in oven.
They should take about 8 mins. But watch them really carefully as they can be uncooked one minute and burnt the next!!
They keep for ages in an airtight container. However they are very moreish!
I hope its ok to put this recipe here.
All the best Weezl for today.

newlywed, hello it was me!:hello:
If it wouldn't make you hurl, the recipe would be much appreciated.:D
Penny-pincher :hello:, here are 3 of our recipes and their protein values per serving. They are all high protein, and not a hint of spinach!Tomato dahl and rice
Protein (g) 26.491
Fat (Total lipids)(g) 11.866
Spicy chick peas
Protein (g) 9.65
Fat (Total lipids)(g) 17.02
4 bean salad
Protein (g) 25.376
Fat (Total lipids)(g) 13.245
26.6 grams to 47.3 grams protein daily is the usual protein range for an adult woman, so you will be well provided for there! The chick peas are crunchy, a bit like a dry roasted peanut, but lower in fat and higher in other nutrients.
HM wholemeal bread is very good for protein too: shaz's seeded bread is Protein (g) 7.211 per 2 slices for example, so 2 slices each at breakfast and lunch, with perhaps 2 poached eggs at brekkie, and ham/cheese/houmous at lunch, would be another 30g protein (assuming 1 oz cheese on sarnie!).
Another thought, diets high in protein can make our bodies shed too much of our calcium stores, so it might be worth having lots of milk and yoghurt too!
Hope all those thoughts help!
I think I've fixed the problems in the index now.:D:o
