Missed the announcement completely -- thought maybe it was in an email, as I've not been able to get access to mine since midnight
I'm just out of the one-way system heading towards Manchester. It's a relatively new estate that was only completed 6 years ago.
ETA: Have now seen the announcement. Have to confess I never go into that section since I registeredCheryl0 -
Munchki..oohh
well in that case -let me check how the copies of the celtic charts will copy (if that makes sense)and i can let you have some
I copied the charts to work from as the originals are on really stiff paper and i like to use a highlighter to x off .....I have not put the borders on mine as they looked to "busy" for me -so im just doing the actual ladies... I like to be different
I have done spring and autumn and am working on summer so i have NOEL, then the other version of winter and spring :j
Im not even sure what small charts i want :rotfl:
I have these lot to get done for ME if i live to be about 100 :rotfl: but they are all biggies ...the orange woman is the next biggy i want to start -eventually
Sorry -nothing to do with weezles thread  ..won't do it again..will pm where needed-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Those are really nice MrsM!! I will dig out the spitfire pattern and if you want it I will send it to you, more than likely the original. I am like you I like to highlight my patterns and think I may have done that on this one, never thought to make a copy of it first as thought would never use that one againof the spitfire!!
Regarding the chutney I made today.....the house smells interesting, a mix of sweet and sour almost! Going to try apple and onion chutney tomorrow and then Dowager chutney maybe friday. Also like the idea of the yellow plum chutney as the yellow plum jam I made is lovely!I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
Evening all! I'm still trying to read/catch up on the thread, to page 58 so far *puff pant*
Could I politely request that anyone managing less than £1 per day per person please post a typical day's menu? I've seen a couple of people's (such as Weezl's :j ) and lots of tasty recipes, but would like more ideas how to make a whole yummy day for less than £1 each. I've never been very good at planning whole days/weeks (prolly why I have a weight problem now  ).
Looking forward to reading more inspiration...Thanks all! :T0 -
Hello Weezl, just wanted to say well done. I read USDA and now this thread every day at work. I think what you are doing is brilliant.
Hi Ashia
Heston bloomenface (thats what I call him anyway as can never remember it properly) did a programme to find the perfect roastie. I have followed this ever since and am now renowned for me roasties.
He says you should boil large chunky sized potatoes in very salty (a tbsp salt) water for around twenty minutes or until nearly at the point where you would mash them. You should have the oven turned up full and be heating a roasting tray with one inch of oil in.
Drain potatoes (don't worry if some break a little, this will give you lovely little crispy bits) and throw them in the tin, shake them around a little and roast for exactly one hour (sometimes a little less if I've cut the smaller to make people think they have more).
works every time
p.s best to use maris piper if you can get them
I'm always complemented on my roast spuds, so here's my tried and tested method...
Boil potatoes (cut to desired size) in salted water until almost at the point where you would mash them. Oven should be at "normal" temp for roasting meat.
Drain potatoes (don't worry if some break a little or fall apart or are a little mashy round the edges, this will give you gorg crispy bits) and pour them into a large roasting tray (no need to heat first, just coat lightly with SUNFLOWER OIL). Shake them around a little, then drizzle more sunflower oil over each spud. Get a pack of CHEAPEST (ie Asda Smart Price) own brand dry stuffing mix (I use sage & onion)*, and sprinkle over all the spuds (yes, exactly what it says, sprinkle the dry mix all over), enough to lightly coat/season each. Roast until bottoms of potatoes are browned and crispy (approx 30-60 mins, depending on size of potatoes).
They really are NOMNOM!

morning all
i have been doing a budget for when i start Uni in a few weeks and my grocery/cleaning/toiletry budget for 3 is going to be £50 week which is about £30 week less than i spend now for 4
I have been trawling the recipe index and old posts for menu planning inspiration
Heres what i have come up with
Brekkie - Toast or value cereals or cinnamon raisin bread
Lunches - pate,egg mayo,jam,tuna sandwiches
bean salad
couscous salad
soup
pasta salad
Dinners - liver in tarragon cream sauce
Red lentil bolognese
corned beef hash
humble pie
shepherdless pie
bacon and tomato couscous
various veg/bean curries
omelettes
spicy tuna and olive pasta
veg broth with dumplings
sausages and mash
mushroom risotto
special fried rice
Snacks will be home made biscuits and cakes, fruit ,peanuts and tortillas (and the odd bar of chocolate for me )
I have switched my DS how as undiagnosed (yet)ADD from pure juice to high juice squash with no adverse effects so will save a bit there too
all cleaning products are already value or homemade (except fabric softener)
At the min my fruit bill is about £10 a week  as DS has fruit as a snack and treat and no sweets due to the sugar and additives
Any further tips ??

ISOM - just a quick one if I may.....I am just about to do your chutney and wondering if I can use another type of vinegar instead of malt as at the moment I have every flavour under the sun in the house except for malt!! Was thinking about using a wine or balsamic one. What do you think?
Thank you very much in advance!!

probably ice cream for dessert might do fancy cones to save on washing up?
and a lime and chocolate mousse type thing (lime jelly, evap milk and crumbled flake)
