Evening all
Sending hugs to you Bashful ..and anyone else who needs one too
Well this morning I had bananas in need of using so made a banana ginger parkin... that is said to last up to 2 months in a tub :T ... i had enough nanas to make a double batch..so i now have 30 good size pieces stashed in the box...well minus the ones we tried.. I will copy the recipe over from the GC thread in the morning just in case anyone can make use of it:T . I only picked that one as i was looking for something that i wouldn't have to freeze -im desperately trying to make a wee bit of space in there:p .. I'm sure you could omit the ginger and add sultanas of a few choc chips for the kiddies ...next time i need to add more ginger...mind the flavour should develope -so we will wait n see:D
I also cooked the gammon and turned the stock into soup with onions, celery, carrots and split yellow peas -so hubby will take that for his lunch on friday (to save me freezing it)
I am finally ordering a remoska in the morning :T I wanted one a couple of years ago..but talked myself out of it... now i have talked myself back into one again -hubby has agreed to get me one for xmas-after much persuation... I read on the remoska thread that they will honour the summer price -£10 cheaper until august 31 on phone orders so i may as well save us £10.. ooh and i can pay a little less tax..not much saved -but it all helps:j im convincing myself that the standard size is all we need:o .... and that i don't need to spend £9.99 on the recipe book..my mum has it
and im not even going to order al the extra pans, racks etc..im bound to find something suitable out here..thats assuming i haven't allready got something in my cupboard...so thats an improvement for me :A :rotfl: Im looking at saving on gas/electric.. i told mum about them, and she got one first -the cheek
and she is in love and reckons she hasn't had her oven on since she got it :T
Right i had better get off again.... have a great night everyone:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I use the hot water, dry in the oven method myself - also use this for metal lids (if you are using vinegar make sure the lids have an enamel lining as metal corodes) but I think that you could use Milton sterilising fluid (or a Milton - alike) or campden tablets or sodium metabisulphite in solution if you happen to have home brew equipment or a shop that sells it near you.0 -

Sian they use lingonberries - a bit like redcurrants - to make the jam at Ikea.
NSD for me today - 8 so far. I think I might make it this month if I can just keep out of the shops as I have loads of stuff in the freezer and cupboards just need the usual F & V
Keep up the good work everyone.0 -
