    Hello all

It must be national jiggly parma day ..im still sat in mine too :T -not that i haven't got anything done of course ;)

Well I have a batch of baguettes sat in the kitchen proving...

I fetched another 1lb of tomatoes in this morning an i have roasted them off with chunks of courgette, pattypans, 2 sad looking green peppers, garlic, a glug of kalamata olive oil, rock salt and cracked black pepper...cooled it and split into 4 bags and frozen to use in pasta dishes or blitzed as passata for using in the winter months... I did 2 bags worth of garlic roasted tomatoes yesterday too:T -I can see getting loads more done too as i have loads of tomato plants and if i don't roast them i will just keep eating them every time i go in the kitchen :o

My aubergine has another 7 baby fruit under way -i have had one full sized one off a couple of weeks ago... but can't wait for the rest to get ready :D

Determined to keep to as low a budget as possible... i did a stock check of the freezers the other day and have worked out meal plans for September, October and still have enough to do one for November too :j .... I will need to add extra veggies etc -but the bulk of everything i need - I have :D

Im half way through this month and have only spent €38.05 out of my €100 ... most of which has been on items for future months..mainly whoopsies -and have had some super bargains just lately -i seem to be averaging payin 1/3 of the full prices ...including smoked salmon for €1 which does me 3-4 meals (hubby doesn't like it ;) )
Which means that i have managed to stash the other €350 of the monthly housekeeping into a savings account :j planning on doing the same next month too;)

I don't know if this will be of any interest to anyone...

I have had my eye on one of these for a while..and am soooo tempted -especially now they are offering a free irrigation system with it.. I was thinking it will free up loads of space/tubs for growing other things..plus if i slip copper pipes over the legs..there is no way the pesky slugs will get at it :D .
I Know its not cheap but i thought it would be great for those will little space, pets or even those with just a balcony ;)
Im just waiting to hear from them as i have asked if they do tax free for forces living abroad..a lot of companies do... well i can hope can't i :D
have a great day everyone and keep up the great work...its inspirational:T

    Hi there Tibbie's mum

I just throw the mozarella in the freezer as it is (have 10 lots in there at the moment)... I find the liquid in there helps protect them..
If you are wanting to split it up..i would put it into the corners of food bags and share the liquid out between them then tie in a knot so everything is in the corner -to keep the liquid over it
    hope that helps

would love to still be in my jimjams, but I came the closest to a holiday I'm going to get this morning which meant getting dressed.......

Had offered to collect a friend and her hubby from the airport as her daughter (who dropped them off) had commitments that meant she couldn't do it. Wasn't as bad as it could have been, as their flight was delayed from 7:40am until 9:15am before I went to bed last night...... which meant I didn't have to be out as early as I'd expected.

So my "holiday" this year consisted of spending just over an hour in Terminal 2 at Manchester ;)

As for the chestnut puree i would have to make a big batch of HM stuffing and freeze it in balls ...

oooohh and that do daa i put a link to earlier -the space saving veggie growing thing... Well i was umming n aaaahing because hubby had agreed to get me a remoska for xmas :T (which was a miracle as he doesn't like getting me things for the house as pressies)...and i was debating which i would rather have  ...then lovely hubby says well have the garden thing for my birthday and have the remoska for xmas  :j .... Will have to order the garden thing soon though whilst the offer is on... my birthday isnt until 22 dec

  • Made Weezls sag aloo today with addition of some HG peas. I added a little tumeric just for aesthetics. I have to report it was yum and I have enough left for several more meals. (only realised later I forgot the coriander, never mind have some frozen which I will stick in later).
Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.
