if you use skimmed milk and apple puree if you have any for part or possibly all of the oil they would be a bit more slimming. but no fun in that!!
I make all this lovely stuff, but dont generally eat much of it, hubby does that. he calls himself the official taste tester when i decide to start experimenting in the kitchen!:rotfl:

I love cooking, but the taste testing is the REALLY fun part - or maybe that's why my sig has a weight loss progress and yours doesn't - hmmm!!

its my last day of 'freedom' before DS goes back to school :j and i start work again!

feels like we have been up for hours, as DS & DD have been sleeping in this holiday, but this week i've been getting them up 'early' (7am) so that its not a shock tomorrow for school! i've got 2 loads of washing done, cooked a pasta sauce for tea, and started to cook my way through 8KG of apples i have been given! :T

anyone have a recipe for apple cake? i made one years ago and it was very yummy, but i can't find the recipe now!

also .. i bought alot of bananas as that is all DD & DS wanted to eat ... typically, i now have at least 6, ripe bananas that no one wants ... not even in smoothies or cake! i have frozen slices of them in the freezer ( delish ... eat frozen and they melt on the tongue a bit like chocolate!!! ) is there a cake or something that would 'disguise' the banana?

off out to the zoo now! :T

    have a good day everyone.

I've found a bit of my geek :j I actually weighed up the packets of meat I sliced up yesterday SIZE=1]Thanks for the use of the electric slicer Mum![/SIZE & have salvaged 500g of the turkey thigh joint & 900g of gammon. Obviously there were the inevitable crumbs, gristlely bits+a wee bit of fat & skin from the gammon & obvious carver's perks :p

The turkey was £4:48 a kilo I think, & this piece of gammon £4:42 per kilo. Both were roasted in the oven Gas Mk6 for 2.5hrs, when the oven was turned off but I left the meat in there to carry on cooking. Both joints were wrapped seperately in a cheapie line of foil; took approx 30mins using an electric slicer; 7 small budget sandwich bags & two larger ones to freeze the packs.

In conclusion, we now have 1400g of pure meat to use for sarnies/ cold-meat-n-mash for an outlay of approx £10, equating to 71.4p per 100g...is that right Weezl?

Now you know why I let hubby be the taste tester!!:rotfl:

more will power needed on my part I think! I have been really struggling with this BORING food replacement diet throughout the whole of August, if I could just get my finger out, get on with it and out the other side where food is just a normal issue, it would be SO much better.

goes away resolved to 'do better'
  • which meal replacement are you doing Leslie? I did lighter life last year for 6 months...never again...plus have put it all back on! Have concluded that I am not meant to be sylph like!!

I am supposed to be losing weight as well. GP stuck me on the little blue pills nearly 3 weeks ago and I have stopped taking as they made me feel awful. However I have managed to drop 7 pounds in the nearly 3 weeks without them!

I think I am going to go back on slimming world. I really need to lose weight and soon(ish) my health is really beginning to suffer and I do the wrong thing by ignoring it all and hoping it goes away.

hmmmm apologies for the above, think I am thinking outloud today, funny day with me today

*wanders off sorta lost and low*

I am doing the same one - Lighter Life. When I stick to it, it is very effective and I don't feel too hungry, and it's quick. Problem is I find it difficult to stick to, so feel VERY hungry all the time, which doesn't help me stick to it. Vicious circle :(

Shame you put back on, they always say it is the hardest part don't they - keeping it off. Losing it doesn't feel very flippin' easy right now. I'm not ready to give it up yet, but if I can't stick to it for much longer I will have to as it is such a waste of money if I don't

awww munchki, don't feel low. Haven't tried the little blue pills, don't much like the sound of what they do!

I have a friend who has been dong Weight Watchers for some considerable time now and has lost 6 and a half stone, and she was a really bad case before diet wise IFYKWIM. If you like slimming world and it works for you, then slimming with other people does help I think.

One of the things I like about LL is the help I get in working out why I turn to food when I don't need it, I think once I have cracked that, I will be alright. Not one big answer, lots and lots of little ones.
