Just a quick update - I didn't get the Ireland job, which in some way is a relief as I don't have a difficult decision to make. Saw bf last night and told him, but he's now really depressed about his life etc, which does in some ways explain why he was acting oddly last time I saw him. Not really sure what the best thing is to do to support him through this though, so if anyone can suggest anything I'd be grateful!

Sorry to hear about the job Lynda, if you're relieved though then it's not so bad. Difficult to help when unsure why OH is fed up with his life...what about sitting down and looking at all areas of life and giving them a rating out of 10 according to how happy he is with them; that'll bring up which area he'd most like to improve on and then you can focus on that first?

LyndaSharp - Sorry to hear about the Ireland job, but perhaps it's for the best, otherwise there would be no element of relief about it. :) Can't suggest anything sensible or helpful with regards to OH. It sounds like he feels stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment, so perhaps the only way to resolve it is to get him away from it all so he can look at everything from outside of the circle? Maybe then he could see where changes need to be made?

Keren, if you look in my signature, I update it every day with the number of days we are into the challenge alongside how many days we have left until the end of the year. 2008 on 4000 works out at an average of £76.50 per week :) But I'm still intrigued by the name change - would it be too cheeky to PM you to ask? :rotfl:

Nyk - I'll PM you - it's to do with stuff that happened with my old job and a confidentiality contract I had to sign.

I'll do some figures as well.

In August I also want to look at getting my fuel changed so see if I can save a few pennies.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.... I Am Sick Of Tinned Tomatoes!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

That's better, just needed to scream that out as the tinned tomatoes are about the only way I can make up the 5-a-day for everyone here! I made a lovely mushroom omlette with tomatoes at lunchtime, when DS preferred to have noodles and then an apple. Unfortunately, dinner tonight was pasta with tomato & herb sauce and peppers. This poses several problems for me:
    1. How can I get a good variety of F&V into the diet when feeding fussy eaters?
    2. Can I have a payrise, please?
    3. Can I get discount on bulk buying tinned tomatoes?
    4. Can you overdose on tinned tomatoes?
    5. Can your skin turn tomato red, the same way it turns orange when you consume too much concentrated OJ, when you eat too many tinned tomatoes?
    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have to admit number two tickled me pink, or is that caused by a hint of tomatoe contamination from reading your post.

    :D Evening frunchkins:D
Been swimming again tonight, and had sauna and jacuzzi. Only problem is by the time I get home I am so chilled out and relaxed:cool: I just feel like collapsing in a heap and not doing anything much at all, which I suppose is what most people do after work but I always feel guilty if I'm not getting stuff done:o
Anyway need to make a loaf, if I get it in soon it will be ready for around midnight, so will make this a quick post.

    F&V totals and frugal menu;
    Brekkie- tinned grapefruit (1)
Lunch - HM seeded bread with honey (0)
    Snack - dried figs (1)
Tea - OJ , frozen green beans, mixed with tagliatelle,HG cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese (3) just about made it!!

Nyk ( I always read you as Nick too:p) am avoiding excess tinned tomatoes at the moment but the HG cherry tomatoes are making appearances every day at the moment, and will be doing for a while as there are hundreds of them:rolleyes: I am fortunate that mine will eat any fruit or veg except celery:confused: but they also eat this as I cook it in stews and tell them it is leeks:rotfl: :rotfl:

I hide chopped celery in curry, pasta sauce and sweet & sour, although DS doesn't like S&S, but I haven't worked out how to hide leeks other than fine chopped in soup. :rotfl: DS doesn't even like tomatoes but he eats tomato based sauces, so I'm thinking that it's probably just as well the homegroewn ones, when they are eventually ready, can be cooked and frozen. Apparently, tomatoes are better for you after having been heated or cooked and even better, again, if you use olive oil in the cooking. Guess I'll be adding olive oil to the next grocery list.

Ooh! Jimmy's talking about willow as a fuel source - one of my 'future projects', must go watch! :j
