Many thanks cw18, I have looked up the Burns range that you have recommended and it is a little expensive considering I always managed to get the usual pet food on offer but for my own peace of mind the money is worth it, lets just hope kittie likes it, she is a very fussy little thing but considering she is helping out her furry friends by eating it she should be happy and so I might not give her a choice in the matterLive on 4thou a year £2685 from 01May08Total left to spend: £1086.35I have enough money to last me the rest of my life. I'm still working my way through the 'part 1' thread for this challenge (and finding it very interesting, so I intend to keep going -- and then work through part 2, and then read part 3 up to where I came in!), but I have a Q.....
I keep reading things like 'just off to post my SOA' -- but what is an SOA? Only think I can think of is 'statement of account', but that doesn't seem to correspond with the next posts by that memberCheryl0 -
Ew Sukielou, I couldn't read all that report, the first part was more than enough. We are in the same boat as you with one of our cats being fed solely on Iams for 8 years before we had him. I am switching to brands stocked by my local rescue centre as I know they refuse to stock anything tested on animals. They're also discounted so might be worth trying your local one (or bulk buying if it's not that local). Thanks for posting that article.
CW, I'm not 100% sure but I think SOA is Statement of Affairs, which is something you do when you have debts then others can offer advice on how to improve - I hope that's right, no offence to anyone if I've got it wrong.
Just back from my hot stone massage which was lovely - I get the next one free, which is the only reason I had it as the two work out cheaper than normal. Planning on having a very relaxing night so even though it's free bingo I'm going to abstain
I think we should have a trial run of your hen do soon Marru, purely for research purposes of course
I got a couple of things for the 70s part of my costume from a charity shop today - sparkly or leopard print, prob not very 70s but at least I'm trying - and a lovely friend on another thread is sending me a sexy dress, long gloves for the casino night and a blond wig for the 70s. Phew, I'm almost sorted! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi cw18, I think SOA would mean statement of affairs, attached is a handy website that you can put all your spending details in to get your SOA. http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html
Although it may mean something completely different in the context your reading as I'm not sure why you would post a SOA, unless maybe to the bank for repaying debt purposes. Maybe I'm talking rubbish and someone else will be able to hep you betterLive on 4thou a year £2685 from 01May08Total left to spend: £1086.35I have enough money to last me the rest of my life. Thanks Bails, we have a rescue centre not far from us maybe I could phone them and find out what their policy is on the foods they sell, I think I would have to send my oh as I would be tempted to have a quick peek and then I would cry and have to bring them all home with meLive on 4thou a year £2685 from 01May08Total left to spend: £1086.35I have enough money to last me the rest of my life. I just got home from work to find the cat had been sick in the living room. While clearing that up I noticed a chicken looking in through the patio doors. With a bit of food I persuaded her back into the pen. Then decided to pick the last of the tomatoes, felt a tug on my leg and the rabbit was trying to eat my jeans! I screamed and ran away. Now the chicken has escaped from her pen again and she can just stay out. I'm not going out to face the scary clothes-eating rabbit again :rotfl:
Despite all the pets I actually don't have a problem with the animal experiments... but then I trained as a scientist and have briefly worked in an experimental animal house. The cats, dogs monkeys and rodents there had a good life, albeit occasionally a shorter one than some pets, and were better looked after than many of the pets I ended up rescuing when I helped Cats Protection. One person at the unit spent most of her day playing with the cats, and the unwanted cats from the animal experiments were homed to staff. Not that you should experiment unnecessarily of course, but sometimes there just isn't another option.
Ok, you can all shout at me nowLive on £11k in 20110 -
I have the same problem Sukielou - if it wasn't for my OH I'd be a proper old cat lady (with a few rabbits, dogs, horses, chickens....you get the idea
)
Actually, thanks for that Lynda, I appreciate an insider view of things. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi guys, I have the free bingo running in the background 'just in case' and have just finished downloading stacks of work for tomorrow so I can get all the printing done whilst [STRIKE]wasting time[/STRIKE] keeping an eye on the freebie tickets and doing free clicks. I have a huge box sitting next to me filled with [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] exciting objects for listing but, like many others, my enthusiasm for photography, blurbing and listing has wandered off and got lost. :rotfl:
Glad you got some stuff for the party, Bails, well done on that.
Mumzy, I just kept doing comparisons and free quotes for insurance until I found the cheapest one. It took quite a bit of time but it was worth it. I think DD's was through Lloyds and was the minimum cover allowed. We don't have much by way of expensive trinkets, so the minimum was sufficient for us both.
Redglass - are they evil weevils or actual beetles? Apparently weevil eggs are in loads of grains & pulses and we don't know they're there until they hatch. Best do the bleach decontamination process of all cupboards & shelves within reach and double check all the seals on airtight containers.
I've come to the conclusion that my skills lie firmly within the saving and frugalising categories - earning extra is my downfall. I've now stuck an ad in Gumtree for some extra work, just to see if anyone responds. However, we have been away and looked at a couple more houses to rent, both 'out in the sticks', so it wouldn't be very handy for walking to work! :rolleyes: Now I can't decide what I want to do... will mull it over whilst eating my curry & chipsI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
