Nyk have you thought of registering as a childminder? ...
I considered it once (very briefly) when mine were little and I'd to keep quitting jobs because of lack of reliable childcare. The rules then were strict enough, now it would be near impossible to implement them when living in what I class as temporary accommodation. Apart from anything else... you'd need to catch me first! :rotfl:
STILL no luck in the silly bingo! Half the time the site's so busy that I can't even get into any of the rooms to collect the free tickets!
Good luck to anyone who succeeds to hang on in there for the duration.I reserve the right not to spend.

AND you have my fould mood to cope with so not a charming bingo night.
I am going to Cumbria tomorrow and this is supposed to be the most exiting opportunity for me and I am just being crumpy. DD has been teasing The Dog all day. My remaining boy piggy has had his operation and is very drowsy under the hay in his cage. Bails was lovely and came to cheer me up with loooovely biscuits but then I made a mess of MB and lost £50.-. I tried to fix a mess I made to stop myself losing a tenner and as it happened if I had left it as it was I would have been ok however after meddling with it disaster stroke. Lessons learned - STICK TO THE RULES and don't try match betting when upset, ill and having a three year old climbing on you. I had just broke the thousand pound MB profit line and am back under again. So a win in the bingo would be nice.
I had very unfrugal supper as went to chippy again and also threw my principles away and came out with some burgers as was desperate for some red meat. I am dreading of doing my accounts on Monday to see the damage. Oh well back to routine come next week and DD eating all her meals during the week at the nursery will help.
Wishing everybody a lovely weekend as won't be updating until on Monday with my August spending.
Night night,

I've been looking at cutting down on our food bill, but I didn't really do that today  Still, I limited how much I spent and it was in celebration of my first pay cheque. The Virgin bill was to blame for the rest of the jump.
My bf and I have set a challenge for ourselves. We're moving in November and we're not going to switch on the heating till thenWe're both in our 20s, we both work all day and we can always put on sweaters. Hopefully this will keep our gas down over the next few months.

BlueFleur, I'm attempting to wait until 1st November to switch on heating too but it's going to be difficult if this damp weather persists! Have you joined www.i-measure.org.uk yet? It's really handy for keeping track of power useage and calculates how much you spend each week gauged against meter readings. It's yet another addictive, number crunching, moneysaving online 'device'!
As for grocery challenges, my current average over the year is about £105 per month but that includes my bulk buying, so I'm quite confident that I can get this below £100 by the end of SeptemberI MUST! The strict budget and home baking is making me pile on too many pounds! :rotfl:
I've had to give up on free bingo as the site seems to have gone down AGAIN! :rolleyes:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I'm on it! Carbon Grade teetering between B and C depending on how I compare the results and that's in this house. I think I could maintain a B or make it to A in my own fixy-up given half the chance.Prices still dropping, so there's time yet for my frugalmania to pay off and allow us to buy a (real fixy up) place for cash and start our self-sufficientish lifestyle. :j I'm not even missing having constant running hot water - sad, but true.
Edited in: Ddraig, the carbon club is called MoneySaving Carbon Club, don't know HOW you could have possibly forgotten that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi MrDT. Personally, I think money spent enjoying yourself is well spent and your frugalness in other areas will help to fund your hedonistic lifestyle :rotfl:
It's amazing how money accumulates when you think twice about what you are spending.
Are you going anywhere nice?
I am off to very hot climes in 2 weeks time :j and I am so ready for a bit of sun before winter proper sets in  although how we will tell the difference is debatable.
Thanks
I guess your definition of 'nice' depends on personal taste :rotfl:We're off to Magaluff in Majorca, beaches, waterparks, drinking, sounds good to meHope you have a great time when you go, hopefullhy you'll find where the sun has been hiding!!!

Nice to see you MrDT, glad things are going so well with your 'ladyfriend' (are you in fact 80? :rotfl:).I agree with Janey, socialising money is money well spent and you are doing brilliantly anyway, especially with your house deposit :T
I could be doing better, but I'm enjoying life and still watching the pennies at the same time. At least I think twice before splurging now, makes a world of difference
Maybe you'll be moving in with your OH one of these days...;)0
